Re: Dajewel's Hair Challenge^_^
Hey guys!!! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and gearing up for a wonderful New year's Eve celebration!!! I finally fully recovered from Christmas celebrations yesterday. The fam and I will be going to Miami tomorrow for a New Year's eve party and hang out with fam and friends!! cheers!!
Here is an update about my hair:
1) I did my first ayurvedic deep conditioning treatment Christmas Eve and left on till the afternoon on Christmas day. I mixed a lil of the 365 Whole Foods Moisturizing Peppermint Condish with a a couple cap fulls of neem oil (this was part of my cleansing solution and I had left over and didn't want to waste)+twice the amount of my handy dandy EO Nourishing Condish in Rose and Chamomile+2 tbsp of tulsi powder+2 tbsp of neem powder+3 tbsp of amla powder+3 tbsp organic honey+egg. I applied Qhemet Biologics Softening Serum as an oil rinse on freshly cleansed hair and then slathered the treatment on.
2) Am pretty impressed to the ayurvedic dc treatment. I don't know how to best describe the results (cuz there are no words), but I will try: my hair seems way more stronger than doing multiple dc treatments over time, i used to see itty bitty little hairs breaking at the very ends....none after the dc, the dc treatment seems to be bring out the pattern in my kinks, coils and curls
3) this will be my go-to dc treatment for now on...or until i find an ayurvedic treatment that is way better
4) even though this dc treatment made detangling a breeze....it still took me FOREVER to detangle(I started detangling Christmas Day ad finished Tuesday evening)....this is always the case....i only finger detangle. I am not mad or venting cuz it is what it is. I am mentioning this because as my hair gets longer and gets thicker it takes longer for me to detangle and this is part of my hair update. keep in mind: RELAXERS AND THE LIKE AIN'T EVER TOUCHING MY HAIR EVER AGAIN.
5) Even though I am part of the protective challenge and some other challenge, I managed to find another hair challenge lol....I am taking part in MopTopMaven's Hair Challenge. This is pretty good time since I am very much flirting with the idea of adhering to practically strict ayurvedic regimen for cleansing and dc. I want to adhere strictly for like 6 months straight next year, and I anticipate to start sometime next summer.
6) Since its not as humid outside, I plan on playing around with flexirods, strawllers and/or Caurso steam rollers to achieve curls
7) Will be resigning to my regular mini two strand twists as of February 1st.

Girl, i am so sorry! I've been so behind on stuff. Getting myself all organized for the new year. I'm actually going to have online cooking classes starting in the new year! The first ones are going to be on Youtube then I'm going to have some interactive live streaming classes starting around March.

Re: Dajewel's Hair Challenge^_^
oh, i forgot to discuss the shedding and using ayurvedic treatments in my hair update!
so, i really didn't notice a change in the amount of shed hairs right after i rinsed and started detangling. i was pretty disappointed. *sigh*. i then started noticing from Monday/Tuesday that some portions of my scalp saw literally a marked decrease or NO shedding at all! Maybe its just my eyes, luck, etc?
then a fellow curly, roschetta(what's up, girl!!), informed me that the shedding will eventually stop in a month if i do the dc treatment every week. for me, washing every week is not practical cuz of the amount of time it takes to detangle. my washing once a month or at week 6 or 7 for the past year has been part of my arsenal in growth and retention. The most i would wash is maybe every three weeks. so, i hope that i can see a difference if i wash every three weeks or maybe i should stick to my normal schedule?
i thought i was going bald, but i guess am not if its taking me longer and longer to detangle

Happy New Year dajewel! I think it's interesting that you only wash once a month or less. How do you prevent your scalp from getting itchy?
