Ok in the last episode I took down my twist that I installed on Sunday on Wednesday while at work. I just sprayed moisturizer on my wash n go and used oyin whipped pudding and shine N define and did small two strand twists.

I used The Sistah Chick method (Youtube) to stretch the twist out on Thursday Morning. I moisturized nightly with Whipped pudding and used my oil mix in the day (grapeseed, olive and vitamin E oil. 1 drop of lavender essential oil)

Yes my hair is thin at the top. It’s from follicle damage. I do have some hair growing but its thin has very little curl and is shorter than the rest. But I am happy with the progress.

I got casually dolled up to go to a high school football banquet. My bff was there I walked in and she said “too cute”. She is forever loyal to the perm but she is very supportive of my natural journey.

My Henna Agenda!!!

I made a "hair tea" with my teas from my Moe's Growth Oil and steeped them in purified water. So i'm gonna use some of that and honey in my henna mix.

Keeping it simple.

I'm gonna mix it tonight. I'm still not sure If I'm gonna put it in tonight and sleep in it (don't wanna do that I likes my sleep). Or just get up early and start in the morning. That's more than likely gonna be my choice.

After I henna I'm gonna do an oil rinse and cowash. Probably just wear a wash and go.

I want to see the color and texture before I twist it up...yet again...even though I will probably take them down before the week is up anyway....lol

Ok This is what I did. I wet my hair and put some v05 in to loosen up my twist out.

Then I mixed my henna with 3 cups of hair tea, 1TBS OJ, 1TBS honey, 3 drops of Lavendar EO and a dash of cinnamon.

Hair tea is filtered water that was steeped with Horsetail Grass, Chamomile, Sage, and Rosemary Leaf tea bags. I also use these in my growth oil as well usually a light oil like Jojoba.

I let the henna mix sit for about 2.5 hours then I shampooed with Creme of Nature detangling and conditioning shampoo Sunflower & Coconut.

Then applied henna all over and worked through then put on plastic shower cap with a bandana then another shower cap and a twist teri cap from the dollar store.

I'll rinse this out in the morning. The application didn't take as long as i thought it would..that's Great!!

The EO and cinnamon didn't cover the smell for me but now that I have my head wrapped up I can't smell it. Well see how it works while I sleep.

I never put a set in in one sitting. I'm usually watching a movie or start in the front one day and finshe the back another day. but i would guess 2-4 hours.

I did my henna last night and have not seen one positive affect of using it.

I hot oiled and deep condished and it still feels hard...I don't like it.
I want my hair back.

I'm sorry you have not seen positive results from henna. Maybe try sleeping with the conditioner tonight and washing it out tomorrow to rid yourself of the hardness.

I know everything is not for everybody.

awww good luck with the henna. i have never used it so unfortunately I don't have any advice but I hope you get your hair back. would a clarifying shampoo get the henna off? you would have to do another hot oil and DC because of the shampoo but perhaps it could be like starting over? but I'm not sure just wanting to offer a little support...

be blessed :-)

What products did you use after the henna? I know you used Creme of Nature but what else? I think that might have something to do with it. Not that I have henna'd but using products that aren't natural may have had an effect. Try using no protein for awhile.

@crvng4mr the reason I used the Creme of Nature it was the only thing i could think of to remove the cones from my hair.

OK I'm no longer on an emotional rollercoaster. I am gonna try henna again just gonna try to do it a lil different. You know the trial and error way.

I think next time I
do henna I'm gonna find some moisturizing agents to mix with it. I
think yesterday I just had an emotional breakdown...but anyways...it's
all good today.

I washed with a sulfate shampoo and used bioinfusions rosemary mint
conditioner and detangled and put it in large twists. now i have on my
trusty plastic cap and a hat cuz i'm on my way to Sunday School and
morning service.

Ok yall. conditioned my hair sunday then twisted it in real little twists.

I was going for my normals size but sometime during the process they got smaller and smaller. I will post pics later.

I do have a question. Has anyone ever mixed henna in there deep conditioner? I'm gonna ponder it. Henna wasn't totally awful...I was just a lil Sybil about it....lol ok smooches.

Ok These twists are like micro twists. I didn't tell you all that I started at 4:45 and finished around 11:15. two potty breaks and minimal..very minimal texting...and checking CN..lol

Anyways I'm sitting here fussing at my self because I'm curious as to how my twist out will turn out....so I'm thinking about when I should take them down.

It took me so long to twist these i should keep them two weeks.

anyways I'm gonna try to make it one day at a time.

No, I have not heard of anyone using henna in DTs. I don't see where it would hurt since henna glosses involve placing henna in watery conditioners and applying immediately to hair. Let us know if you try it.
