thanks, nmoultry!!!!!!! i used the Koils by Nature Hair Butter on dry hair to re-twist. I didn't co-wash. Its not as thick like other hair butters (IMO). My hair is moisturized and smells nice this morning; i still can't stop playing in my hair!! i really really really like that it has kokum butter. I would like to use it on the regular, but I am afraid of protein overload because tt does have hydrolyzed jojoba oil protein.

hey, guys!! Hope all is well!! i know i have been slacking with Monday posting. I think part of it is that my main style of choice is just two strand twists. i like how i don't have to worry about too much tangles and hair protection. i can moisturize my hair more effectively when in two strand twists. and, for me, styling options are plenty with two strand twists. i plan to rock my two strand twists until December 18th/19th because of the above reasons, finals are coming up and don't have time to devote to doing more to my hair, and impending finals means i don't have time to play in my hair when its in a fro.

things that i need to discuss:
updated review of Koils by Nature Hair Butter
review of earrings from http://www.peruvianearring.com/index.cfm
karen's body beautiful hair butter
EO conditioner
tonight's two strand twists results

stay tuned!!

tonight, i co-washed with EO Nourishing Conditioner for Dry or Treated Hair. I decided to use it because is new and i thought it was time for my hair to get some infusion of protein, as it hadn't any since the middle of the summer. i also noticed my ends were looking kinda frayed, and thought the protein would help whip them into shape.

i am not a lavender type of chick; it kinda reminds me of someone's granny. but THIS conditioner makes me actually like lavender! Its conditioner is pretty thick, but not as thick as AOHR. Its a gentle cleanse. I dig how my hair smells so nice even hours after co-washing!!! is like aromatherapy; had a calming, serene affect to my mood!! UPDATE: is not lavender, but is rose and chamomile

it also gave me really good, gentle detangling power(although i didn't really have that many tangles as before)! love it!

my roots feel so nice!! i can tell major HIR for the rest of the week!

would i use it again? yap!! not anytime soon, though, because of the protein. besides, that, i wouldn't mind using this as my usual co-wash! so, i guess i need to find an EO conditioner without the protein! man, i can't wait!

i co-washed my hair with EO conditioner while the hair was still in the two strand twists. I cold-water rinsed (i tend to forget to do this because I am in the shower), t-shirt dried and untwisted each twist. detangling as pretty much a breeze. i re-twisted with my Giovanni 50:50 Hydrating Balance conditioner diluted (btw: i got a couple of spray bottles from Target last week for 0.49 cents a pop!!), aloe gel from the plant and 100% shea butter. I sealed with EVCO and castor oil. My ends like noticeably nicer since using the EO; made the curly action at the ends more defined when sealed with the EVCO and castor oil mix. I do believe this is probably the best two strand twist that i have done!! practice makes perfect!!

btw: these pics don't the 'do justice!

the white residue is the shea butter that was still drying:

Which EO condish did you use? TJ Maxx has some (In a white bottle) that I've been wanting to try but I haven't seen any reviews.

i used the EO Nourishing Conditioner for Dry or Treated Hair with Rose and Chamomile. I haven't been lucky enough to score some at TJ Maxx, Marshalls or Ross. I purchased the 8 fl oz bottle for about $8 at the Vitamin Shoppe.

dajewel wrote:sooo, i tried Koils by Nature Hair Butter to redo my twists. the verdict: SOFT, SILKY AND SUMPTUOUS TWISTS!!!! the smell is really nice and citrusy, but wish it were stronger/lasted longer. my twists feel luscious!! i didn't use aloe gel because i just wanted to see how the butter worked by itself. and, to me, its lighter than a butter. a little goes a long way. it melts as soon as it hits body temperature.

i am not going to use the peppermint styling gel because one of the main ingredients is carbomer. carbomer is used a thickening agent, is a inert, but is a synthetic that i don't really want on my hair.

also, my KBB and chagrin valley soaps came in the mail today!!! I am already falling for the cranberry cocktail!

so, as promised, i am giving an update on the Koils by Nature Hair Butter. I believe this is a great butter if you just want to refresh your twists by just untwisting and then retwisting with the butter. Sadly, the hold did not last more than a day. I will revisit this butter sometime in February because it has protein and my hair is protein sensitive. I more than likely will experiment with in while my hair is in a fro.

I finally tried out the Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Butter in Cranberry Cocktail. I used it to moisturize my twists. Very thick butter. I noticed that it gave my twists a very nice shine/sheen and moisture. I LOVE the SCENT!!!!!!!! The smell stays for a day and a half (am pretty sure longer when its hotter and more humid). I sealed with EVCO. Now, this is where the butter gets the double thumbs up: it helped masked the scent of the EVCO!!!!

The following day I refreshed my twists with my diluted Giovanni 50:50 Hydrating Balance condish and sealed with EVCO, and i noticed the Cranberry Cocktail scent was also refreshed! Love it! I also noticed that I get better results with Giovanni leave-in than without the Giovanni leave-in.

Although i religiously use 100% unrefined shea butter, I do appreciate a good, thick butter that smells sooo good like KBB Hair butter! The butter will DEF be part of my general arsenal, as I plan on using it at least once a week. I know am gonna get mad hits because of the Cranberry Cocktail!! lol!
