happy new year!!! yeah, that's a pretty good question....and to be quite honest i don't know how i do it. my scalp maybe begins to get a tad itchy around week 3 or 4. i think i am able to go long without itchies cuz the products that i use are natural. also, if its itchy i like to soothe with a mix of aloe vera juice, witch hazel, green/and or black tea. i think also i am tolerant with some of the itchies. hth?

Re: Dajewel's Hair Challenge^_^
hey, curlies!!! hope everyone is doing well today!! My holiday was particularly jolly; i partied alot...practically had a cocktail/event/lime/party/hang-out practically everyday for the month of december lol. however, i have hit the ground running this morning (well, i was already working prepping for 2011 as of last wednesday), and plan to endure two months of hard work day and day out until i go on my first trip for 2011: Trinidad for carnival in March (am currently figuring out possible hairstyles with my costume ). that's just how i do: work hard/smart to play even harder:)
anyhoo, i have some pics of my hair yippey!! i did my very first flexi-rod set last week after cleansing and dc-ing. to help me get some length/hangtime i detangled and banded my hair. sorry for no pics of that. i guess i shoulda took a pic, right? i banded with Giovanni 50:50 Hydrating Balance Conditioner into approximately 12 sections. I allowed to air dry (it doesn't take long for my hair to dry....like max 30 mins).
i then took each section, damped with water, added more condish, added herbal spritz from butters n bars (wild berry smells divine...i can't wait to use it more often...all the men will chase me down once they smell this on my hair lol) and flexiroded with blue (mostly) and orange flexirods (i was lucky to find a pack for $1.99 at Ross...boom!!!! lol). i slept in them overnight. i am pleased to say they were very comfortable for me!!
i unraveled and seperated.
nevermind my yawning lol i came back from a late christmas dinner at bahama breeze
am really excited that am able to achieve this style (especially without heat), as i haven't been able to do this style with this length, fullness and healthy hair in years...maybe since my teens...and they say natural hair ain't versatile

Hey girl, wanted to tell you that Naptural85 washes her hair once a month too. And she doesn't even use shampoo or conditioners. Just an organic hair wash and her hair is gorgeous. she also uses a homemade she butter to seal. Very interesting.

hey, hun! yeah, i am trying to locate that hair wash, too. i think i found it. i am thinking of using flaxseed gel to twist instead of aloe vera gel cuz am getting bored with aloe gel.

Re: Dajewel's Hair Challenge^_^
YES, I found it but refuse to purchase for 2 reasons:
1) i need to know if it will clog up my bathroom pipes
2) i want to try in the summer because i plan to do majority of wash n go styles (i already got my summer regimen )

Re: Dajewel's Hair Challenge^_^
hey there, curlies!!!!!
the next set of photos are my second attempt to the aforementioned flaxirod set. I didn't wash my hair, but simply added a lil condish, butter n bars herbal spritz and flexi-roded over night. my curls came out even more defined. why? the water from the first application evaporated+addition of condish and spriz=more concentrated product in hair. love love love the hair!!!!! *sigh* am so in love with my natural hair *sigh*
this is how my looked after taking out the flexirods:
me seperating, pulling, fluffing my hair to get it to how i like it...i don't recall that it was light out when i took out the flexirods and suddenly it was night with my curls more defined...oh well, get ready for an impromptu mini photoshoot rotfl:
final look!!!!! love it!!!:

Hi Dajewel! I just love your hair, the fullness, everything! You say it only takes 30 minutes for your hair to dry?? I can't even imagine! Nice flexi-rod set though. I have a few but I've never tried to do anything but a twist and curl with them. Might have to venture out- you've motivated me!
Oh, and can't wait to see your carnival pictures!

Hi Dajewel
Your hair came out cute with the flexi-rods. I have some and don't have a clue how to use them. (YouTube!!) How do you preserve your style at night?
I'm late, but Happy New Year!!

hey there, curlychef!!! nah, not yet....i want to use, but am simply too lazy to strain the flax seed in order to use *sigh* besides, i think i more than likely won't use the gel till mid march-ish since i plan on washing then.

hey there, poeticlyspkng!!! thank you!!!! am loving the ringlets in your avi!!!! i used to have my hair styled like that a couple of years ago, and i miss it am thinking of getting my hair done like that again sometime later this year....or maybe i will do it myself as i don't trust people to properly wash and detangle my hair...we shall see
u know i have never done a tnc....i just thought my hair would never take to it. u and bbd have motivated me to venture out to do the tnc!
oh yes, i can't wait for carnival!!!!! is like 42 more days till carnival (whose counting??? lol). i have been soldifying my tickets to fetes since the beginning of the year, trying to figure out what am going to wear for carnival monday (i just got the bikini that matches the color of my costume and a nice bra yesterday and now am having a thought to wear an ensemble that is not the color of my costume for monday....decisions!!! lol). oh the colors of my costume are bronze, iridescent, and royal purple. i would like to wear my hair in a flexi-rod set, but i don't know how feasiable that will be for me to prep my hair with fete after fete after lime after fete day in and day out (is pure pace during carnival lol). I am beginning my wash regi today, and i plan to leave my hair in mini twists till i touch down in trini march 2nd. also, i have to pick out jewelry, figure out make up and spray paint boots. i can't wait!!!
