Morning Ladies,

First, I will fill you in on MM. Last night I took down the updo and
prepoo'ed with Shikakai oil, then I rinsed it out.....LOL. I didn't even
use shampoo or conditioner, my hair felt too divine. I let my hair air
dry and then appplied jasmine oil, organix shea conditioner and sealed
with vatika oil. I then rolled large two strand twists with flexi rods,
hoping to recreate this style:

I hardly ever win anything. I'm that person that enters car giveaways in the middle of the mall, and can be sucked into buying things, in hopes of winning something. REcently, I stayed after working a 12 hour night shift, to give blood in order to hopefully win free 2 night stay Vegas tickets.....and of course to give some cute kiddo a chance to get better .

Thanks Ladies! I'm trying to decide whether I will go anywhere today, or stay in the house and if I do the latter, MM will stay rolled until tomorrow.

So, it's official...not leaving the house today. It's currently 93 degrees out and MM would love to show out, especially in warm weather.
The good news is that I have a nice food porn shot for you guys! As you may know, I'm a foodie, food addict, I love food, etc. I just happen to be vegetarian, some people think that means that I eat boring stuff...Not true. Anyway, I love fresh juice, but always need a way to jazz it up. Enter food porn:



This is comprised of fresh apple and orange juice, blended with ice, frozen banana and a few frozen strawberries. Swoon!
This drink is extremely cold, not quite frozen, and tastes like an orange-y, apple-y dream....if there were such a thing.

I suggest everyone have a juicer and a blender. It saves tons of money and adds tons of health benefits! Enjoy!

How long have you been a vegetarian? Why did you stop eating meat?

I've been a vegetarian for like 3 years now. I stopped because I kept having high blood sugar and cholesterol, and it scared me. My doctor, who was Caucasian, kept saying "This is common in African Americans, it's nothing to worry about. It runs in every African American family". I was not having that. So I asked a nutritionist at the hospital and she said to cut back on my meat consumption. I cut out red meat and pork. Then I got tired of chicken and turkey products (and kept reading creepy stuff about what's used to mass produce chickens). So I started only eating fish and experienced headaches, that my doctor determined was from mercury (which freaked me out), so I vowed against it all. LOL

Sorry, so long. I ultimately wanted to be healthier. I no longer have blood sugar or cholesterol issues. I eat fish about once a month, and eggs a couple times a week (my body can't handle ANY dairy).

That wasn't long. It was perfect because I understand completely. I gave up meat once for about 2 weeks I got so sick and shaky that I ate a freezer burned hotdog, LOL. Ever since then I was too scared to give up meat completely. I don't eat a lot of red or pork - even though I love my bacon. My goal is to cut back on the meat we have for dinner through out the week. We have salad night but the Hubby fills his salad with chicken. All my blood pressure and sugar levels are so low that doctor's look at me like a science experiment however, my husband is close to having high blood pressure but he refuses to believe it so I have to take matters into my own hands. I cook healthier but then find fast food bags in the car from his lunch breaks, SMH.

I love food so much that I want to be able to eat what I want all my life so I have to start making healthier choices now so that if I want to, I can order that Red Velvet Cheesecake when I am 90.

I agree 100%. It's not enough, being thin to me. I want to be healthy and feel healthy. It took a few weeks for me to figure out how I had to eat. I eat a ton, but I have to, because off the food that I eat.
You should see my great aunt, she's in her 80's, wears high heels to church every sunday. Goes for walks in her neighborhood and is so health conscious that it's insane. She loves giving me the "Chicken, ain't what it used to be" talk. I love her dearly and she's so healthy and cute, but will eat her some dessert when ever she feels like it! Because she made healthy choices when she was our age.

Wow! You need to throw your luck this way! That's awesome! That juice looks yummy! May give it try. I'm not vegan, but I eat very little red meat and absolutely no pork. I don't think I can give chicken and fish...I may have convulsions and start scratching like a crackhead. I commend you on your healthy lifestyle!
