Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
That's excellent. You didn't wanna go cold turkey??? My bestie went cold turkey years ago. I imagine that's hard though. But you will be ok if you have had no cravings in 2 days for it. How long do you have to stay on the patch??
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
I've tried cold turkey. Too many life stressor to keep that one going. I have a 16 year old daughter who is boy crazy. NEXT!!!! I also tried some less than the patch, it worked, but I gave up. I think this is it though. 3 times a charm they say....... Guess i should put that ticker below also. 2 days down a million more to go!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

MissyCee, I am soooo happy to hear that you're stopping smoking!!! That is awesome, and I'm cheering you on with Misskris [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] You can do it!!! I stopped smoking in '07 and my husband stopped 1.5 years ago. Many people in my family smoked, and now everyone has quit years ago. You can definitely do it! I'm here to support you in any way I can.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Congrats to you MissyCee on the end to smoking.
I still do not know what to do to my hair. I usually wear twists but...I just don't feel like it. I know I should protect my hair but ...when i went to the salon she suggested comb curls. I did not feel like sitting there for all that time. Any hoo...I guess I will likely end up in twists.
hope all is well with each of you!

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
oops i thought I typed more than one word.
I saw them on someone else before. They look like shirley temple curls and they are made with a comb. sorry i cant describe it better than that.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Hey All!!!
Ok jumping in here @Thinice ...comb curls . not feeling that, but hey if you like it go ahead and have fun.
@MissyCee... Congrats on trying to stop smoke, i can only imagine how difficult that must be. I can definitely see the difference with the henna. Since i am a henna head it looks good to me. Henna does loosen up your curl patten and since i am not a big fan of curls i love henna. (I prefer color than curls)
Haven't really done nothing much to my hair, just been oiling and wearing my faithful puff.
Planning to henna soon again...what can i say i am an addict

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
I use castor oil, but I'm not in the challenge. I love that stuff. Thinice, I use comb coils for the front of my hair. Many naturals "coil" and "coil out" for style. There are also many ladies that refer to them as "finger coils". I've seen them done on loosely textured and highly textured hair. They can also be done on very, very short hair and hair with length, too. The top/front of my hair is very loose and don't match up with the rest of my hair. I used to wear a part in my hair just to lay the front down before comb coils.
This is the top of my hair washed and just using a leave-in. As you can see, the top is just hanging out. I just bailed on the leave-in altogether, btw.

Here I used CASTOR OIL (ironic, I'm not in the challenge, lol) and KCCC. The front section is manipulated with comb coils to match the rest of my hair. If I didn't do it, my hair would be limp and unable to style in the front.

Here is a pic with them coiled out. They match perfectly and no one ever knew that those curls in the front were self-made. Now if someone can help me stop playing in my hair after applying MAKEUP. I adjusted my eye base and had the nerve to twist my hair in the front. As you can see, the front of my hair is rocking MAC Cosmetics, too.

Put comb coils or finger coils in the CN search and some threads with lovely styles will pop up.

That's beautiful Fleur.
MissKris, I did one anddecided to rework it. I didn't start back up!!! 3 days and counting.......
Ladybird, thanks of the smoking thing and the henna. I plan to do it again, ummm in two weeks.
What, and I know I might have already asked, did you use to mix yours?

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Beautiful hair Fleur!
I'm on my last few drops of JBCO, but thankfully I have a new bottle being delivered to me today.
I added some to a spray bottle, mixed it with water and use it to mist my scalp at night and hair during the day for shine. Its about 1/2 tsp. of oil to about 1/8 cup of water. Its making my hair baby soft!
I will oil my scalp tonight because I have the gym tomorrow and the oil helps keep my scalp and roots from getting too dry from the salty sweat.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Thanks Ladies!!!
MissyCee, congrats on trying to be smoke-free. No matter how difficult it may be, your will power will pull you through it!
Ladybird, if I can do coils--then you can do it. Trust me. I am horrible at styling natural hair. I just learned how to do those things less than a month ago, plus I'm left-handed! There were all kinds of contortions and accidental yanking going on with that comb, lol.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
I am trying coils this weekend.
I think the shedding is post partum shedding to the max. I am back on the prenatal vitamins and water.
