Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
I do believe Moptop Maven did the video, she had relaxed ends. I know when I started following her back in Junish??? she was talking mostly about getting her ends trimmed at the end of her transition and the end of her first year.
@MissKris, I was looking at the picture behind her, all that oil spray. And her face looked a little oily too. I think I will try to find something. Not sure what yet. I did mix aloe vera juice, jojoba and water this morning. I will try this a few weeks and see what happens. So far so good. But my hair is still in the twists. Like I said before, unless I'm going somewhere important, I will wear my satin cap and my knot cap underneath it out. Talk about protective styling. The twists stay in sometimes about 4 or 5 days. And of course, now in class, it's only on Thursday nights, I can wear my cap or untwist. So......

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
CiaE, I meant to say great on your hair progress. Not sure if you posted lengths before. How long have you been natural? Or when did you bc? Too many stories to keep up with. And also welcome back and keep posting...

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Same boat here Misskris. I need to get a job so that we can get back to saving as well. Between hubby and myself we have ten children (NO, they do not all live with us). LOL!! Our four year old is the only one with us all the time and our other children alternate (previous marriages) days, weekends, etc...

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
I did check out the video by Moptop maven. That was a lot of gel that she used. I am not sure if I could do that or what my hair would look like if I used her method. I used to think my hair was thick but after seeing her hair...NO way I have thick hair. It is gorgeous.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
hey Twinkie. WOW!!! 10 kids???? WOW!!!! lol God bless you!!! I meant to ask you too, how long are your relaxed ends?? You're definitely doing the BC or are you just gonna cut your ends as your hair grows???
I agree. Moptopmaven did use a helluva lot of gel!! lol. It did come out pretty but that seems like too much work. When it gets warm outside I will probably play around with my hair to find a technique that works for me. Your hair looks cute in your profile pic!!

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Thanks Misskris. I have about 10 inches of relaxed ends and about 2+ inches of natural hair. I think I may just cut ends as I go. Not sure about BC yet. I said I would think about it as the one year mark approaches. LOL (about my kiddo's) you see why I need to get a job.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
LOL....yes I do!!!!! THat's a lot but at least you have the other parents to help out!! That's a blessing.
So 10" is a lot. I guess I thought you had more natural hair than relaxed ends. So yeah, you have a way to go but it will all grow out before you know it. I BC about 5 times and in hind-sight it grows fast but WHILE it's growing it seems like it takes forever!! LOL By summer you'll have a lot more.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Ok Raw Twinkie. I just looked at you fotki. You are doing great. No shedding problems yet? That is great. I agree, snipping as you go will work. Just make sure you deep condition and moisturize and handle it with care. Nice twists with bantu knots. I hope to be able to try some bantu knots this summer.

Twinkie, I just looked at your fotki, too, because I keep forgetting to try a bantu knot-out, and I wanted to take a peek. You have an absolutely beautiful smile! And your hair is gorgeous! I can't blame you for not wanting to BC...lol.

Missycee, no major shedding yet. I pray that I dont see a lot. I just keep co-washing, deep conditioning, and moisturizing. I pray that I am doing right by following this routine.
