Hey Newlnaturelle......Welcome to out little group.

We all have just completed our Castor Oil challenge @ the end of spring, so we are hopefully trying to get ideas for our next challenge.

We threw some ideas out but still trying to finalize them.

Hi, ladies!! Okay, finally had a moment to look at the CG book and what she has to say about trimming your own hair. She gives detailed, step-by-step instructions so if you girls want to see that, I do recommend that you buy the book. It's got a lot of great info in it. Anyway, a few things she says about trimming are 1, to never trim your hair when it is wet; 2, snip the end of the curl "unit" to be cut with the tip of the blades; 3, avoid combing or running your fingers through your hair while cutting; and 4, she cuts the curls on the straight or flat part of the curl, not on the curve of the curl.

I really hope this helps. It's kind of difficult to do it without seeing the instructions for yourself.

Thanx for the info! I will likely end up picking up the book. Idk what the flat part of the curl is... Those are some pretty good tips though. Don't be mad but the Post Office was closed by the time I got there today so it will be Tuesday before I can get that package out to you. Sorry!Oh I meant to ask is that your new address or your current address?

Your are so funny, Tiff...lol...I can never be mad at you, cutie-patootie! Let's see, the flat part of the curl is the part between the curves. See, like I said, it's hard to imagine without seeing the pictures in the book. That's my mom's address. I figured this way I would get it no matter what. I don't think I had the approval for the house yet when I gave you the address.

Aw! You're so sweet! I kinda understand what she means when you explain it like that. I think instead of getting a trim I am going to go with the search and destroy method. I am considering trying to put myself on a no heat challenge. I used my bonnet dryer thingy like 3 times last week! Embarassed

Hahaha...it's not hard not using heat. I haven't used any heat since October and don't even miss it. The only heat I've used is my heat cap for my DTs. You can do it, girl!!!

So yesterday i went to my first Meet-up and it was really good. There was about 12-15 of us and we had blast..

What i like about it, was all the different types of natural hair and all the different styles.

They were some really great ladies and the info that we shared was
amazing.

Hey Butterfly...I smelt that Oyin Burnt Sugar thing....EWWWWW No
and it so small.

I am sure you guys will see some pics, because everyone had a camera.

Ladybird, I'm glad you had a great time! And thank you for that info about the Oyin. I will not even bother purchasing that one, especially because I would have to order it.

@Butterfly
I think I am going to try it in baby steps. Maybe like 2-3 months at a time to start then stretch it more and more. Just means I will have to be more conscious about doing my hair @ night instead of getting up early in the morning. Its 1:00 in the afternoon and I want some grits and eggs but will have oatmeal

@Ladybird
I love meetup photos. I'm so glad you had a good time!!

@Tiff, yeah, it's hard sometimes when we're so busy to do our hair at night at the end of a very busy day. Mmmmmmm @ grits and eggs tongue

@Ladybird, I finally looked at the pics. You were very cute and it looks like you girls had a great time!

Thanks MissyCee... it is always nice to meet new people that have the same interest like yourself.

We talked about hair all night and it was truly fun. Who knew that there was this world out there. Surprised

Any ideas for the next challenge?

I really like the way my hair feels, it def feels stronger. I think I will switch to jojoba oil and keep my hair in twists until the end of summer. I want my hair to grow more, so I can bun it.
