Re: SheeTacular's Hair Journey - Slide show!
I absolutely love this challenge. This is my third challenge I have entered since I have been natural. I was sick so much between September and December 2009 that I spent a lot of time catching up on blogs that I follow but didn’t get a chance to read like I wanted to. That’s when I joined the forum at CN. I was ending my TWA Challenge at Nappturality and was very displeased that I hadn’t grown 5 inches in a year.
So when Nikki posted this challenge it was a God send cuz I knew I needed help and input of other naturals and this seemed to be the best way to do it. Through the lovely participants on this forum I had enough courage to do a Facebook challenge at the same time for 2 months. This challenged showed me how protective styling preserves hair.
I know I have hairs short and long everywhere all the time even when I relaxed but it just dawned on me that my hair grows but it is very, very delicate so I have to protect it. So I have been keeping it twisted for the most part. I moisturize like crazy. Every time I wash my hair I detangle slowly and gently. I first finger detangle and finger comb then wash and apply condition and separate into sections. I then get out of the shower and use my shower comb to detangle each section, then I follow up with my Denman brush. I get back into the shower rinse and brush with Denman under the water. If I am going to twist my hair wet I resection apply leave in and butters.
I know this is a process but its worth it not to have tangled hair and to see the length that I can maintain by not ripping through tangles or snatching out knots. I have reduced the single strand knots as well those strands usually break first. I also went and bought a satin pillow case from Sally’s because sometimes I don’t bother to wrap my hair or put on my bonnet.
I deep condition almost every time I wash my hair. This is a must because fragile hair needs moisture to help it be manageable without breaking.
I’m still learning a lot.
I love you ladies so so so much. I appreciate the words of encouragement and the jokes and the lessons learned.
Smooches.

Okay I took a list at the members list.
Lynnie has 4360
Sweet has 4139
Tia has 3316
Chrs has 2515
IB has 2479
So they will pick between the top 5. I think probably look at progress and information shared and given and overall personality of thier posts.
That is going to be a hard call.
I wonder if they are just gonna give them all prizes.
HMMM I can't wait!!!

Song of the Day - " The Blood Still Works"
I know it works because it saved me
I know it works because it healed me
I know it works because it filled me
I know the blood still works oh yes I know the blood still works
And it will never, never, never lose it's power
The blood still works.
I was excited about the win I didn't tell you all that I twisted on dry hair (a well moisturized Fro) on tuesday night and finished it wednesday morning. No pics.
My PJ is slowly but surely coming back. Last week I bought replacements of my faves Aussie Moist and giovanni leave in. I was low on them. Well this morning on my way to work I had to stop at target to get some personals and I walked past the organic or natural hair isle with giovanni, Yes to carrots, etc. Well they had the cellophaned pack of Yes to tomatoes and Yes to Cucumbers. They were 8.99. It had the Full size shampoo with a 8.49 oz of conditioner Free! So I walked past saying they will have it again.
I shopped and walked back by then I figured well they only have one of each left so I got them. I don't even shampoo that often but you never know. Plus my sister may like it. Yeah that's the ticket.
LOL.
Have a great day ladies!!

oo, watch out girl. That happens to me to. You run out of something and you go to replace it and end up picking up new stuff.

Just admit it like I did, your a ride or die PJ'er, LOL!
I do not think I am eligible for the top five since I did not post on my BnB thread every M-F for the entire time.
"This contest will run from now until April 30, 2010. At that time, the TOP 5 POSTERS will be considered by Sharika, and one will become Miss Naturally Beautiful You 2010! In order to be eligible you must:
Post daily in your thread/blog
Post as frequently as you can around the forums--starting new topics, commenting on, and answering others question, forwarding discussions, and leaving compliments! The more you post, the better the chance you have at being in the top 5."

*singing* "Did you ever know that you're my Sheeeeeeeeeeeeee-ro?!?"
First you bring Eco Custard into my life and I get the best twistout of my natural life and then you bring phillydiva's braid take down method to me!
I did a test patch on my minitwists and I just had to run over here and tell you how fabulously it worked...and that it's going to save me soooo much time and hair! OMG. I LOVE YOU. Seriously. I wish I could hug you!
