NylaCoils do you! Learn and accept. Its ok to miss him - honor the love you have for him. And you can have a bunch of fun along the way and before you know it it won't hurt anymore. Last week I was able to look at his pictures and my heart didn't physically hurt.

NylaCoils, the universe might have removed him from your life for a reason. The breakup with my ex ended BADLY (in a we-shouldn't-be-allowed-within-350-feet-of-each-other kind of badly). But 5 years with him taught me a lot about who I am and who he wasn't. It also taught me what I really needed in a man was actually the OPPOSITE of who he was. Armed with that knowledge, when I wasn't even looking, I met a beautiful man one day, and I could clearly see that he cared for me unconditionally.

I've actually had a chance to speak to my ex since then, and I thanked him. Because without his crazy ass, I never would have been able to appreciate my wonderful husband.

I am 39 and being natural makes me feel much younger. I wear my hair in two strand twist, fro, puff and any style I so desire. I don't really love being natural.

@sam70- I wear mine in twist outs- today is a braid out- shea butter on the ends! IS that a typo? You dont LOVE being natural?
I love being natural for several reason..I stand out. I don't look like everyone else. When it rains I don't have to worry about losing my curl- in fact the rain helps my curls!
Why did you become natural- think back on that and you may develop a love for your afro

!!!

I am 41 yrs. old. I have been natural since the age of 18. I cut off my 16 yrs. of locs on Feb. 1, 2009(most othe length and unloc'd what was left), leaving me with 2.5" to 3" of loose hair. Today, with 7-9", I am wearing my hair in cornrows. I work for a major wireless telecommunications company and never once in my 12 yrs of employment with this company, have I ever thought that my hair was unprofessional...nor immature for that matter. @Sister Brown- I love this movie! I gave it to my ex. My dad always told me I was a princess. To this day, I have never worked or gone to school on my birthday!
@ SavvyBrown- I just came from NYC over a month ago! I was born in Brooklyn at Kings County Hospital!

Last night I made a mixture for my hair. My hair feels so soft

Aloe vera gel
DevaCare conditioner
Castor Oil
Peppermint oil

This was applied to wet hair and I did mini twists! Oooh! My hair feels so soft. Should have left them in- since I am going to workout in the AM!

She was my inspiration for small twists. I was going for teeny weeny twists but failed miserably.

I am trying to bribe a friend to do mine- with some extensions for at least 6 weeks!I need to do a protective style. I have HIH syndrome and it is detrimental to my hair.

@perkynapp - welcome! yes she is one of my hair idols also...

i deep condish with this african best hair mayonaisse, i put the plastic cap on and bonnet for bout an hour. i had to wash it out quicker bc the smell was just too powerful.
i left some suave coconut in and put 3 cornrows in for a braid out, so tomorrow morning i hope it looks good.
otherwise, back to my curly fro and i will try to work on it again tomorrow nite.
