I'm gonna take up a portion of mslys09 boot camp and only weigh myself once a month. Every time i get on that effin thing and it spits a number at me I swear to goodness gracious its broken... but its not and for some people (probably me) the numbers dont go down very easily, but that mean there isnt any progress.

Iv been working out (cardio) for 1 hour 6 days a week since Jan 4, I'm eating 3 well balanced and proportioned meals with 2-3 healthy snacks. I have stayed away from sweets AND ICE CREAM (air high 5-ing anyone else who is an ice cream fiend) and only drink water with an occasional sprite or ginger ale (8 oz) 1-2X's a week, the scale has not budged No but I can tell things are different. My skin is bright and clear (not that it was ever bad but it glows, the other day my honey said I looked "radiant" like I was "shining"... that made me smile Smile ), I get more restful sleep (i guess a daily 5K will do that to you), I have more energy, and overall i just feel good

I didnt take measurements earlier in the year but i know iv gotten small...just not lighter. Right now this is where i am

Chest: 45
Upper Arm (l): 15 1/4
Upper Arm (r): 15 1/4
Waist: 37
Hips: 46
Thigh (l): 29
Thigh (r): 29

I'm adding weights to my work out this week so we'll see what that does for my measurements

ITA with this article! I only had a membership so that I could take advantage of the cardio classes...zumba, aerobics, spinning, and sometimes they add weight training as well. That's really all you need!

Hi, ladies! I just wanted to check in. I didn't weigh/measure on Sunday and have been just crazy busy (today's my b-day!!) and I just wanted to say that I did weigh/measure yesterday only to be disappointed to see no change at all anywhere. I don't know, I'm hoping it's like a while back when I didn't see anything for a few weeks and then, BAM...a 4-pound loss. I'm still eating right and getting activity on most days. I didn't feel like exercising on Sunday so I did 1hr 15min of gardening.

Hey Butterfly. Shoot...Gardening burns calories. In fact, you can burn 272 calories /hr according to http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-burned-gardening-a176 and that's based on 150lb person. I love the calorie count website. It's even in my favorites list!!! LOL So although it wasn't a high impact cardio session, you still burned something!!!! Very Happy

I finally stopped being lazy and have worked out for the last 2 days. I did some workout from Jackie Warner on ExerciseTV and 30 Day Shred. It wasn't that bad! But I definitely need to stick to it. I have a question(hopefully someone here can help me)...When I was pregnant I carried my DD really low and now as a result of that my stomach kind of hangs down. If/when I lose weight will I just have sagging skin in this area or will it tighten back up? I hope plastic surgery isnt my only answer. Sad

Hey kekesmom.....sadly I know exactly what you mean cuz I have that too! I had twins my 1st time around and they're the ones who did that to me!!!!!! Evil or Very Mad lol and some women can lose it some can't and do have to opt for surgery to get rid of it. My twins are now 8 and I still have it (although I also had 2 more kids after them) You can work on it by doing lower ab work in addition to upper abs and obliques. It has helped me some but I will most likely need to get some nip and some tuck after I lose all the weight I need to lose. I hate the women whose tummies are as flat as ever after having even 3 and 4 kids!!!!! Mad lol but just keep workin on it. Maybe you're one of the lucky ones. How old is your daughter??

Thanks for your response misskriss! I was beginning to think I was the only woman out there like this...lol...I'm definitely going to try to incorporate more lower ab exercise and hope for the best! Last night, I did 8 minute abs and some thigh/butt exercises b/c my body was hurting from Gillian...

oh my DD is 3 years old.

Oh ok. Yeah just try the lower ab stuff. And maybe you can take measurements now and then say in a month or so to see if it's doing anything. I'm sure it will do something. Jillian Michaels is no joke so between her and whatever else you're doing it should help some. Good Luck!!!

LOL....am I the only one doing the weight loss challenge???? Where is everyone??? LOL anyway, I am just now getting online and it's 8pm. I was unable to weight myself ast home this morning cuz I was at the in-law's. BUT, I did get on their scale and it said I was down to 194-ish. So if that's right I have lost a total of 14.5 lbs since 1/1/11. YAY!!! However I will get on my scale in the morning and see what it says and take my measurements too.

Lol, misskris. We're here! Hey, ladies! So I have been following the bootcamp rules. I have not weighed myself in 2 weeks (wow!) but I have lost a half inch in my waist, hips and bust so something's happening! My trainer suggested that since I trying to reach 145 lbs, I should have no more than 1450 calories per day. Loseit.com has been a great tracking tool! I am having a little trouble not eating after 8 but I'm working on it! I had my first boot camp session yesterday and am sore all over. Here's to another good week!

Btw if you have an iPod or iPhone there's a Nike trainer app that leads you through 30-45 minute circuits. It will use your playlists as the workout's background music. It flies by and there are some awesome workouts. Just a tip!

Hey mslys!!! lol....glad i'm not alone!! great job on the inches lost!!! woot! keep it up.

i think i may be the only adult who does not have either an iPod or an iPhone!!! lol. my hubby has an ipod. i have a shiffle and i think it'd dead. i have been trying to charge all evening and nothings happened!! Sad oh well!! lol

I forgot to post yesterday! I weighed in at 145.6, which put me down about 1.4 after last week's gain. I took my measurements too on Thursday, I will report back on Sunday but I am not sure if measurements change much in a matter of a week.

32 7/8--waist (taken at the belly button so I know where to measure).
35.5-chest
38 hips
21.5 both thighs
10.5 both biceps

UGH, I was up .2 yesterday when i weighed in. I know it is not a lot, but i still was a bit disappointed. I will probably be up next week too, because it will be that time again.

Anyhoot I finally took my measurements and i must say I was quite surprised, especially with my waist measurement. I thought it would be a bit smaller.

Waist 37- I measured in several places and this is the # i kept coming up with :-(
Bust 39
Hips 49.5
left arm 12.5
right arm 13
left & right thigh 30
left & right calf 16 1/4

Hi, ladies, I was down .5 lbs. yesterday. YAY!! I'll take it since I was up last week. However, my measurements did not change. I think my body is trying to fight me, but I'm fightin' back...lol.

Oh, the waist should be measured 1/2 in. to 1 in. above the navel.

I can never find "the smallest part of my waist" like they tell you to, so I figure it will just be inconsistent if I don't use some sort of a landmark.

Yeah, you're right about being consistent. I measure 1 in. above my navel, which I believe is the smallest part of my waist. I've always measure at that same spot though so idk. Like you said, consistency is what's important.
