I like making my own food too to cut back on salt, sugar, fat, whatever it is. That's a great idea!! My hubby is also allegic to shell fish, my mom, too. I am soooooo glad that I am not...lol. I've been trying to make the switch from Splenda (I only use about 2 packets a day for my coffee or tea) to Raw sugar because I've heard that's better for you. However, you have to use like 3 of those packets to taste even a little sweetness...hahaha. I probably just have to get used to it. But I've been using more Truvia because that one is made from the stevia plant, supposed to be natural.

Yeah I just started using Truvia as well. It's ok. I like that it has n calories but I was using Sun Crystals before which is also all natural. I like it better because you don't have to use as much. But the packets of Truvie have more in it but not as sweet as the sun crystals. But I use it cus it's no calories. Girl I LOVE my seafood too and so glad I'm not allergic. I don't it it often and when I do it's usually just shrimp and crab legs. LOOOOOOVE me some crab legs!!!! LOL

Hahahahaha...crab legs are my fav!! Girl, my birthday is coming and me and my sis in law are going to the seafood buffet in Green Valley...I can't wait now, all this talk of seafood...lol .

Hahahaha!!! never been to that one! actually only hit up the Green Valley area a little bit. That was like waaaaaay on the other side of town for us. We stayed up at the last exit of civilization!!! lol.....you know where the race track is up 15? we weren't too far from there and where the education offices are.

Needing some inspiration to workout today. Iv gone for and hour every day this week, but Im kinda moody today and want to use that as an excuse to not go. Not to mention I have patients to see on Friday mornings which throws my workout schedule off, I LOVE getting up and getting it out of the way 1st thing in the AM. Has anyone else had an issue with staying motivated when the schedule is not what youre used to or prefer and if so how do you get past it?

Hey Blkbeauty....the way you get past it is to just DO it!! LOL And then once you've done it you'll feel better and be glad that you DID do it!! Even if it's just 30 minutes. It's not the hour that you normally have been doing but 30 minutes, even 20 minutes is better than no minutes!!! I know it's annoying sometimes to have to work out but you'll be glad you did!!!

Hey ladies...ok so kinda slow this week. (for me anyway, weight wise) but here are my measurements....
weight 198.6 so down from last week!!! YAY!!
From last week's measurements -
Waist - 40 1/2" YAY!!
Hips - 44
Thighs - R: 27 1/2" L: 27 1/2"
Bust - 47ish
Arms - (I measured @ widest saggy part!! LOL) R: 16 1/2", L: 16 1/2"
Today's measurements -
Waist - 39 1/2"
Hips - 44 3/4"?
Thighs - R: 27 L: 27
Bust - 45"
Arms - (again at widest saggy part LOL) R: 14 1/2 L: 14 1/2
Weird....I may have measured in a different spot on my hips cuz that says I went up but that's probably wrong. I don't even HAVE hips!!! LOL I'll measure again later. But everywhere else I lost in inches so WOOHOO!!!!!
So from the beginning of the year (or from when I first measured) I have lost a total of 9.9lbs and 8". I wish that was off my waist alone!!!! LOL But I'll get there eventually. Today was my rest day. Went to church although I wanted to work out but oh well. Back to it tomorrow!!!!

That's awesome, Misskriss!!! I woke up very early this morning and me and hubby started our day shopping, gardening, washing the cars, and I totally forgot to weigh and measure. Since I only do it in the morning to stay to consistent, I'll do all that tomorrow and post. Hopefully it's good news.

Hi, Everyone!
I've started doing a boot camp and I figured I'd share the rules.
1. Keep a meal and exercise journal. I'm doing it through loseit.com and e-mailing my trainer the daily reports.
2. Exercise a minimum of 4 days per week, 45-60 min per workout
3. Eat clean (nutritious and well balanced meals... which I"m so glad I've been doing for the past 3 weeks!)
4. Drink 8 oz of water first thing in the morning and NO food after 8pm. If i get hungry after that, I can eat a tablespoon of peanut butter or drink water.
5. No weighing ourselves b/c that can be a major source of frustration. Mine is broken anyway so I just threw it out lol... we'll track progress through inches.
It sounds like a great plan to me. Since doing cardio for that long is an area of growth for me I'm taking free fitness classes offered at my grad school and have started taking an African dance class.
Here are my measurements as of Friday, the 21st:
Chest: 36 1/2
Upper Arm (l): 11
Upper Arm (r): 10 1/2
Waist: 31
Hips: 44
Abductors: 40
Thigh (l): 24
Thigh (r): 26
Weight: 160
Body Fat: 30

Yay Miss Kriss!!! As I stated last week, I have been sick which has contributed to my weight loss progress. Today I weighed 178 (minus all the henna thats in my head) Even though I'm not moving in the direction I'd like to be, I'm glad I didn't put back on all the weight that I've lost. BUT. I'm right back into it this week.
My Goals Are As Follows:
1. Eat Breakfast within the first hour that I wake up EVERY MORNING
2. Eat within my calories limits
3. Two hours of Cardio each workout
4. Break 170!

@ Mandi, you tryna be like Biggest Loser and break 8,9 lbs in a week??? LOL Go head girl!!!!! But be careful that you don't overdo it. Slower loss is more likely to stay lost!!! so they say. I feel you though. I wish I would lose that much in a week. I guess I could if I starved myself but that wouldn't be good either!!! LOL If I didn't have to keep my baby boy all day everyday, I'd be like you and workout a good 2 hours. That's what I used to do in Vegas when I was able to work out that long. But not anymore. Anyway, Good luck!!!!

The only reason I'm making a goal so big is because when I lose weight the first 10-15lbs are usually the easiest to drop. Anything after that is tough. I'm going to be working hard though! Right now, although I have a job (military), I don't really have a 'job'. That is the only way I'm able to workout as much as I do. Hopefully within the upcoming months, I'll be a full time student and possibly working full time. I don't know what I'll do then!

Congrats on all the progress ladies! Last week I did not work out AT ALL! That's so terrible of me, but this week I am getting back on track. I'm about to work out right now.
