Hey KC...

You know...I almost tried the dc sample. I had to stop myself..LOL Can't wait to read your review of Ori organics. The products are very reasonable price, and I'm always looking to try a new style. (don't know why cause I have my MiraCurl and Qhemet) Anyway....just wanted to stop by and say hi!! **waving**

Hey KNH,

I know you love conditioner so I can just imagine that it was hard to keep from ordering it (lol)

I know right (lol)! I'm gonna get better I go through phases with the pics. Sometimes I'm always taking them and then there are times when I don't.

I love rose water! I add it to my conditioner and some oils as a spritz to moisturize my hair when it's coiled.

Hey KC! So, I've never heard of that product. How did you find out about it? do you know others who use it? I'm always curious as to how people find out about new lines. Especially since I don't buy unless it's on the ground. I am jaded by my experiences with Carols Daughter. I purchased so much that didn't work for me... But I digress. Looking forward to some new pictures and kudos on buying no new products. One cave in does not suggest failure! Smile

I am trying it this week and so far so good. I've had it for awhile and didn't know what to do with it.

Hey Nubie, yes I'm trying to control my spending habits and I'm doing better than I used to (lol)! I used to impulsively buy things but now I wait to decide if I really want or need something.

Hey Poeticly!

I first heard about Ori organics on youtube from a couple of people I subscribe to, Empress ri and Coilskinkscurls. There is also a big thread about it on naturallycurly.com and a couple of reviews on two other blogs I read. So I've been seeing and hearing about it. I forgot that Curls Unfurled here on Curl Street has used it and did a review a while back. So usually I hear about something new on Youtube or other blogs. Now before I would immediatley buy something but now I wait and do my own research. I try not to get too many new products but my curiosity got the best of me this time. I think the only other new line I've tried this year was the Sheamoisture at Target and I'm liking that one.

Don't mention Carol's Daughter to me because that is one of the first lines I bought and it didn't work on me. I ended up giving a lot of that away. The only thing I've been buying online lately are stylers. My shampoos and conditioners I've been getting on the ground since I use them more frequently and use a lot of conditioner. TTYL

So I'm still in twists and I have been spritzing my hair with Rosewater, veg. glycerin and vitamin e oil. My scalp hasn't been itching as bad as I expected it to. I have been applying Vatika Oil to my scalp every other night so maybe that has helped a little. However I am too ready to wash my hair (lol) which I will be doing on Saturday.

Here are some pics which I forgot to post at the beginning of the week. In the first pic I had just spritzed my hair with Jane Carter leave-in and retwisted (my unwashed hair) with Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Hair milk.

Hey CG, yes I've been slacking with the pics (lol). Thank you for the compliment! Except for this last purchase I have been really good as far as buying hair products. Much better than I was in the beginning since I'm learning to use stuff up first Smile

Post by krazy coils 4th October 2010, 8:10 am

Good Morning Curlies,

So I finally washed my hair after two weeks. I still prefer washing my hair every 7-8 days. I pre-pooed with olive oil overnight and shampooed to get rid of any buildup since I am using a new styler. I used the Ori Organics moisture balancing buttercream as a leave-in and twisted with the Ori Curly Buttercream. So far so good. I will be using these for the next two weeks to see if my hair likes them. Here is a pic after I twisted my hair. I am going to try doing smaller twists but lately I've only had time to do the chunky ones.

Krazy Coils, - Page 24 01511

Small rant:

As far as stylers I usually like to alternate between two - three which actually helps them last longer since I'm not using the same one all the time and my hair doesn't get used to one product. Qhemet's AOHC is my favorite and Afroveda Shea Amla was the other. I always alternated these two to do my twists and braidouts.

Well the owner of Afroveda recently increased her prices and I think she lost her mind in the process. Her 8 oz jar of Shea Amla was $9 the price I purchased it at then she raised it to $12.50 but now the price is $21.50 for 8 oz minus shipping. I don't know if she thinks her product is infused with silk or gold but there is no way in hell I'm paying $21.50 for 8 oz of product when there are so many other alternatives out there. I really loved the Shea Amla since I got really defined twistouts with this product and I'm going to miss it once what I have left is gone. So hopefully my new styler I have works. Okay my rant is over.

LOL@ your rant, I feel you on that though. I bet you can make a great mix yourself that's much cheaper. I use my Shea Butter mix on my hair and my twist-outs come out pretty defined.

Hey KC,
Just stopping through to say hi! No @ $21.50 price for 8 oz. That's how I feel about the $27.95 for Bee Mine Deep Conditioner. There are other alternatives for better prices. I'm over trying new things anyhow unless I win a contest or something. My Kimmaytube LI and Fleurtzy Curls Nuture Cream works like a charm. I've decided to use what I have on hand, buy nothing else unless I need it, and restock only what I really love and works well for my hair.
