Hey Toya and thank you! I must have missed the bad comments in my searches(lol) but everything works differently on everyone. So far I'm liking them. The butters are really creamy and thick almost comparable to Qhemet's. After I've used them for another two weeks I will definitely be able to tell.

Madness Evil or Very Mad She is definitely getting a lot of rants online about this.

Just stopping through to say hi! No @ $21.50 price for 8 oz. That's how I feel about the $27.95 for Bee Mine Deep Conditioner. There are other alternatives for better prices. I'm over trying new things anyhow unless I win a contest or something. My Kimmaytube LI and Fleurtzy Curls Nuture Cream works like a charm. I've decided to use what I have on hand, buy nothing else unless I need it, and restock only what I really love and works well for my hair.

Hey DVA,

I saw the price on that Bee Mine conditioner and I kept it moving (lol)! Definitely keep it simple to learn what your hair likes and dislikes.

Hey KC! Loving the twists, hunny! Your makeup is fab!

I heard about the Afroveda price hike. I don't use the product, but I'm sure not going to try it now. That's ridiculous! LOL @ silk and liquid gold! I wonder if she realizes this is going to hurt her business.

Hey KC, dropping in to say what's up. Love those chunky twists! Surprised Yeah, Afroveda is a bit out of hand. And she only raised the prices on the butters, because she knows that's what everyone buys from her. The conditioners and shampoos stayed the same. Trifling much? Neutral Anywho, hope you have a great day today!

Morning KC....

Lovely hair as usually, and I just drool over how thick and juicy your twists are drunken

So...you're not gonna purchase AfroVeda anymore? Most feel that way, but I guess I'm looking at the cost of other stylers versus what she is now charging and it's all in the same price range.

I had a conversation with JnB about this a well, and she loves that stuff but feels the same way you do.

I'll be looking for a review on the Ori products study

Have a great day...nice visiting with yah!!

Thank you CG! She probably realizes now, its so many products out there now not to mention some people just make their own so some vendors have to really think before they increase prices that much. I mean that was a huge increase in one year.

Hey Mika, Love your new avi! Its funny I'm just realizing most people only purchased the butters. And trifling is just an understatement. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey KNH,

Before the price increase I was really thinking about whether I should repurchase. Since the beginning of the year I've read about the decline in customer service and some people getting bad products and it made me hesitate to repurchase. When I initially ordered last year I didn't have a problem and loved my Shea Amla. I think the problem is that she initially set the prices for her products too low compared to others and this huge jump within a year just kind of threw people. I think if a company want's their product to be $16 or $20 they should start out with that price if it is of good quality and they have good customer service. A good example I could use is the KBN butters which is a new company and the butters are pricey, but the owner started with this price and the quality and customer service are excellencent from my experience.

I will admit that I use or have used other stylers that are pricey but I mainly buy these when there is a big sale or there is some type of discount in shipping (which is why I am waiting on the black friday sales Smile ) Now once I did order Qhemet's AOHC when there wasn't a sale but that's my HG!

Hey KC! My first time visiting in a while so I HAD to come by to see ya. Your hair is looking great as always. Missed the rant on afroveda but I hear ya. I have a rant to add and you touched on it- but this is just one more company that is trying to over charge our community for hair products that we can make ourselves at a fraction of the cost. This is something they really need to think about and shows just how out of touch they are with the natural hair community.

Oh well, your hair and make up are looking lovely. Wat is that orangey eyeshadow you're wearing in your previous pics?

Hey Poeticly!

It is actually a red/pinkish color but its the L'oreal HIP shadow duo in Cheeky. I used an NyX pencil in Rust under it which made it turn out the color it did.

Krazy Coils, - Page 25 Empty Finding an Alternative for shampoo

Post by krazy coils 21st October 2010, 9:18 am

Good Morning Curlies,

Nothing new with hair since I am currently wearing twists. I have decided that I need to take a break from shampoo. My hair is acting crazy and is getting extremely dry from the shampoo. My last few styling sessions have been a hot tangled mess No and I want to see how my hair does if I remove shampoo from my current regimen.

I don't plan to completely eliminate shampoo but I only plan to use it if I really need to clarify from buildup. To clean my scalp and hair I plan to alternate with the following to see which works best for my hair:

1. Increasing ACV rinses
2. Benonite Clay Mask
3. Adding Shikakai to my Amla and Brahmi paste.

All three of these are good for removing buildup for the hair and I plan to add them to my regimen. Shampoo is the devil for me right now (lol). Still have a review of the Ori Organics coming soon.

Ori Organics Review

I have been using both the Curl Styling Buttercream and the Moisture Balancing Buttercream as my stylers for the last few weeks.

Moisture Balancing Buttercream

They say: A thick, whipped, hair cream to preserve the moisture in your strands. Although light enough to moisturize finer hair types without weighing down the hair, this cream will still penetrate the coarsest strands. ORI Moisture Balancing Buttercream can also be used as a moisturizing butter for twisting the hair.

Here is a picture of the Moisture Balancing Buttercream:

Krazy Coils, - Page 25 01111

Curl Styling Buttercream

They say: A thick styling cream for twists, braids, and other natural styles. ORI Curl Styling Buttercream can be used as a moisturizer to seal in much needed moisture to the hair. Excellent as an ends treatment, this buttercream will leave your hair soft and saturated with moisture for days.

Krazy Coils, - Page 25 01011

Review:
Looking at the two pictures the Curl Styling Buttercream appears lighter and more whipped than the Moisture Balancing Buttercream. In my opinion its heavier and has to be used very lightly or you may end up with greasy hair. The ingredients are very similar for both products just listed in a different order. I honestly prefer the Moisture Balancing Buttercream over the Curl Styling Buttercream. I used it by itself and as a leave-in under the Curl Styling buttercream and my hair was moisturized and I had great definition.

I have a tendency to be heavy handed and I think I may have used too much of the Curl Styling buttercream on my hair, but regardless my hair felt hard when I used it. I got the opposite feeling when I used the Moisture balancing buttercream by itself and under the Curl Styling Butter. I will definitely repurchase the Moisture Balancing buttercream and use as a backup for my Qhemet's styler. Its similar but I will say that I get softer hair with the Qhemet's

Here is a picture of my twistout with the Moisture balancing buttercream under the Curl styling buttercream:

Hey mstokes and thankyou! The regular price for both is $12.75 but I bought them when there was a sale last month for $9.50 each I think it was. I was going to get the samples but with the sale it was only four dollars more so it just made sense to get the larger size while there was a sale.

Can you believe this?? I guess I'm getting my PJ urges under control. Haven't bought any conditioners lately either!!! dance

You may have mentioned this before, but have you done a protein treatment lately. I know when my hair starts going crazy (dry and shedding) it time for a major protein treatment.

Well...let me walk around the neighborhood a bit.

VERY NICE results! Love it and the product is reasonably priced. I have been looking for something similar to Quemets without actually buying it. But then again- I planned to get some on Black Friday. So I won't know. Now this Ori might be the front runner. Good review!

Hey KNH and thank you! Yes it is difficult to believe you're getting that PJ under control(lol) Ms. conditioner queen but I am glad you've found what is working for you. I haven't done a protein treatment in awhile and I probably need to because my hair is driving me crazy.

Thank you LaToya! It reminds me of QB'S AOHC as far as it being thick and creamy and it is moisturizing. But I will say that to me Qhemet's is a little more moisturizing and leaves my hair softer. I do get more definition with this product than with Qhemet's. But it is a close runner-up to Qhemet's Smile

Hey Poeticly,

They are very similar and the price is lower than Qhemet's.
