Ok, my sis had to get her merena taken out [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] She actually had heavy bleeding during her cycle before (due to fibroids?) so the iud was supposed to help, but it was very uncomfortable & kept dropping down [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I hope I don't have the same issues. I'd rather not take the pill everyday. I'm still on the mini-pill from when I was nursing but my dr. said it's not very reliable.

A friend of a friend also got the Mirena & she also has fibroids. The doc said it should help. She's had it for about the same amount of time I've had mine & as far as I know she's doing fine. I've read so many negative & positive stories from women with IUDs so I've learned to take some things with a grain of salt. Our bodies are different and won't always repond to these things the same way.

Hey ladies,
I am thinking that I need to do something a little more constructive with my time. I've noticed just by "stalking" other forums that a lot of you are really crafty. I think I would be interested in learning to make jewelry. Who knows anything about that? What do I need to get started? Any help would be great.

Also, thanks to Lynn, I've been inspired to work out. Even though my baby is 2, I will not stop calling this inner tube around me "baby fat" LOL. I am going to start on Sunday and see how that works. Wish me luck!

I make jewelry! I used to do it more often when I had more time. To start I would suggest getting a kit (sold at walmart or michaels) to start off to see how you like it. The kits can be for bracelets, earrings, necklaces. If you like it, then you can start buying your tools and threading materials & of course all the fun & pretty beads!

Are these wire kits? Do they come with real gold or sterling silver? I would like to make some for Kurly T and the twins. I wouldn't want them to break out or turn green. What kind of jewelry did you make?

I have made a ton of jewelry. Earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces, anklets and I've made wine charms and decorated my napkin rings with wire and beads. The possiblities are endless really! It's a lot of fun....I have spend lots of money on beading. It started as a hobby as a teenager and as I got older, I learned more and was exposed to more (i.e. bead shows, beading magazines) and I started designing and selling pieces.

I make both sterling silver and stainless steel. They do have sterling silver beads and such...I'm not sure I've seen any kits with sterling silver but they may exist. I also haven't seen real gold pieces in craft stores but I defninely have online. That of course will increase the price.

Websites I also like to order from are www.artbeads.com (free shipping and you can buy any quantity you want) and www.firemountaingems.com (shipping is not free and they sell most items in packets. The unit price is good in comparison to other places though).

Hope that helps! Feel free to ask me any other questions! I love making jewelry and really wish I had the time to get back to doing it more often. Right now I'm on a crocheting kick! Smile

@ JamaicaCurl: Thanks! I think crocheting is cool too. I've never been really crafty. When I was pregnant with my son I tried to do the latch hook kit thing. I completed it (Winne the Pooh and Tigger) I never sewed it onto the pillow. I never finish anything I start...but that's all going to change!! I'll let you know how I make out. Thanks again!

@Luvme: I remember getting glasses in Elementary school. They were supposed to be for reading but I thought they were so cool I wore them all the time, ended up messing up my eyes and now I'm blind as a bat without my contacts. I'm sure he will be fine. Just as long as you got him so cool, hip frames!!

So funny because his are for reading only too. He was very cocky in the store saying how good he looked but he is always very outgoing at home and not so much at school.

Thanks Lynn. What is your work out routine? I am about 138 lbs and 5' 2". I have a weird shape...lol. I'm top heavy (34D) and have no butt (size 3 to 5 jeans). My concern is my stomach. It is driving me nuts. I love to eat (whatever tastes good, so no calorie counting for me) and it goes right to my stomach. I would love some hips or butt, but no, I've got boobs and stomach...lol. Can you give me any tips? Oh, and I have $85 worth of Shawn T's Hip Hop Abs DVDs still in the box! LOL

I have that problem with not having a butt and all food going to my stomach too. I love food & don't like to totally cut out anything!

I also got the hip hop abs dvds and I ending up laughing at the guy most of the time! He's like "oh this is my song" and always lifting up his shirt. It's comical Smile

I have the tummy issue too. Weight isn't an issue really, I just need to get motivated to lose this baby belly. I hate sitting down and my belly wants to sit over my jeans lol. When I try to talk about it with my sister she rolls her eyes or says, "whatever" because I am small 5'7 & 132lbs but this tummy is getting on my nerves. Its just not firm like it used to be and I know that's expected after having a baby but I want it gone without me doing the work lol. I'm just kidding but I definitely need to get motivated. Hubby sucks! He has the flattest stomach ever! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

@ALatina, I know what you mean. My friends describe me as "crackead" skinny! I'm like..."ooookay." I am the smallest in our "group" they are all 12-16 and I'm a 3-5. I can't help it. But I do want this tummy thing to be gone. But seriously, I'm going to do work out cuz come summertime I want to be in a bathing suit without a T shirt or a sarong over it! I'm not doing the 2 piece thing I have tiger stripes (stretch marks) as my son calls them. Kids, huh, gotta love 'em!

@ Mom2KurlyT - I dont count calories but if I find out something I love
to eat has a ridiculous amount of calories, then I wont eat it as
much....example McDonalds. Eating 500-700 calories on one meal and you
will be hunger in 2 hours just wont fly with me. I work out to hard to
just toss calories out of the window like that. I still eat everything
I love but in moderation.

I am not an expert but I would tell you do cardio. Go ahead and blow
the dust off of your DVDs. My stomach is not were I want it to be
because I havent been doing ANY stomach exercises but it has gone down
tremendously from when I first started. I get emails from Jillian
Michaels site daily and it gives little tips to help you out. She
believes you have to workout at least 45 to an hour a day if you are
trying to lose weight.

@ Lynnie - that makes sense. When I want to eat something I really shouldn't I sometimes ask myself how my body is going to benefit from it (i.e. nutrients, vitamins, etc.) and usually end up not eating it. But of course there are those moments of weakness when I'm like "who cares, I want it!"

My son didnt crawl on his knees until he was a year old. He started doing the army crawl (on his tummy using his elbows) when he was about 7 months if I remember correctly.

LOL I've seen babies do the army crawl. Its so funny. Hubby was asking Taj when he's going to start crawling this morning lol! As if Taj was really going to answer him. I don't think he's ready yet. I try to give him "tummy time" ever so often to see what he'll do but he just fusses and then rolls over to his back and starts to smile.

SN: He's gotten to the point where he likes to be held nearly all the time. He used to be cool and I think even prefer sitting in his bouncy chair or propped up on the couch sometimes but now he wants to be in mommy or daddys arms a lot more. I don't mind really although it makes getting some things done while he's awake a bit more difficult and sometimes I just have to let him cry. Anyone experience this?

My boys crawled around 6-8 months. They were pretty chunky so they didn't master it til later since they had all that weight to carry lol!
As far as your little one, let him cry when he's on his tummy. For a little while at least. Try to engage him in a fun toy or game with you and/or hubby to try to calm him. The more tummy time the better his muscles will develop for other motor milestones (including crawling).

Girl that is the truth! It is so tiring being a mom and wife and working and trying to keep everyone happy! It's hard for me to multi-task as much as I try. I keep telling the kids that I can only do one thing at a time and my 3 year old tells me to do two! LOL He's a trip!
Kids are too cute. Btw, my oldest son's middle name is Amir Smile And my youngest will be 2 in April also.
