Ok so I made a video of my flat twists to upload and evidently the Windows Movie Maker is not compatible with You tube. Arrgghh. So I need to upload it again.
At any rate, I have been working on perfecting my flat twists. I plan on doing some kind of flat twist style for my daughter for Easter. Still concocting it in my head.

Ok, here is a video of the results of my flat twists. Should I make a video of when I am actually putting them in? Do you think that will help people?

For us flat twist challenged folks, yes, seeing you do them would help a lot! lol I do like how it helped define your curls! What type of headband did you use?

LOL, ok. I will video me actually putting the twists in next time. I use the cloth headbands that you can get from the Family Dollar or Dollar General store. You can usally get 3 or 4 of them for $1.

I hope everyone had a great Easter! I ate waaay to much.
So I don't have a whole that is new today. I am working on a good hair concoction. The last one I made worked really well. This time I added some mango butter I had. I'll keep playing with it until I find a good mix.
I deep conditioned my hair yesterday with baking soda and Aubrey organics honey suckle rose, washed with Kinky Curly Come Clean and followed up with the Knot Today Leave in Conditioner. I then added some of my hair butter mixture and flat twisted.
Here are the results of my flat twists:
I put a few bobby pins in the front to try to control that cotton ball patch. I have no idea what to do with that section of my hair.

Yes, I can see the improvement. Have you tried rolling the ends of your twist? I plan to try them again probably tomorrow.

I used to roll them on straws when I had straight ends from flat ironing my hair. I haven't since then. I will try it again and see what I get. Thanks!

Ok, so this week I am still rocking the flat twists. I was feeling pretty confident about wearing my front out until my daughter said to me in the car "Mommy you should put your headband on. It looks much better" Oh to be humbled by a child. LOL
In other news, the kids and I picked up eggs from our 4-H office. We set the temperature at 99.5 degrees and it should take 3 weeks for them to hatch.

I know, right. Kids are so brutally honest. LOL
Thanks! I absolutely love Youtube. I've had an account forever and never even knew there were people on their talking about hair! So I created a new account just for natural related stuff.
I hope you are having a great day as well!!

Don't give up on the flat twist. The shine and definition on your last one was great. Just roll the ends with rods, like Lynn said. That is what I do but I use paper to protect the ends when rolling. I think when the hair gets some length then we will be able to get hangtime without the rollers. However, the rollers also protects the ends too.

Thanks IB, I definitely need to try the rollers. I'm going to try rollers and straws to see if I can tell a difference. I think the straws will be more comfortable to sleep in.

Yes! and I have no idea what we are going to do with them! I think we are actually going to build a chicken coop as a project and keep them for as long as we can. The funny thing is we don't eat eggs (we are vegan) so I guess we will give them away or sell them.
The eggs are in the incubator and take 3 weeks to hatch. So I guess I better get busy figuring out what I'm going to do with them!

Alright so I am still working on my flat twist. Here are my results from this morning when I took the twists out:
I'm thinking of exploring bantu knots once I get these mastered.

Re: Mochamoments- Dry Flat Twists-Can't get my pics to post. :(
Last night instead of going through my normal routine of wetting and flat twisting my hair, I flat twisted it dry. I was surprised this morning to find that my hair was soft and fluffy. I guess it was because I didn't have any shrinkage.
I took some pictures but for whatever reason, I can't get them to post.
I also trimmed my daughter's hair and flat twisted the front. It's almost like her hair screamed thank you for the trim. LOL I will post pics of her hair as well.
