You're welcome. My boyfriend has a MFA in Film and did very well for himself on the festival circuit, and received a licensing deal from HBO and a DGA award as a result. So definitely get your film out there so you can get some exposure.

Curly Film Chick - Page 3 Empty New Product

Post by Curly Film Chick 28th December 2009, 12:14 pm

I used a new product this weekend, Burt's Bee's Avocado Pre-Shampoo Treatment. I actually used it as a styler, I used it as I was setting a braid out and my hair felt so soft. Then this weekend I twisted my hair (dry) and it still seems to be working for me. I give this a green light for me.

I will say a little goes a long way. It's very thick and it has a strong smell. I also concentrated on the ends while using it, as a way to seal my twists. I'll try to take pictures later...

i did this on dry hair, with evco and the Burts Bees avocado butter (I talk about it above) and used Set it Free on the ends, because my hair tends to unravel so easily, especially on twists...

I loved the film! Was the spoken word an original as well?
I like your twists what kind are they, from one angle they look like ropes and from another they look like regular two strand?

Yes.

I have to learn how to do those. I bet they last longer than the regular two strand twist, huh?

More great twists!! I think I just have to come to terms with the fact that my twists aren't going to look that plump and luscious. Crying or Very sad

Rope twists, IMO, look great. You twist by twisting the two parts in opposite directions of one another by twisting. So, first, separate hair into section (small, med. or large) for twist. Separate the section into two parts. Take one part and twist counterclockwise and take the other and twist clockwise. Twist them together. As you twist, you will have to remember how you twisted them initially. It is best to do in a mirror the first couple of times you do them. Healthyblackhaircare on YT has a great tutorial on how to do them. They call them natural hair two strand sister twists.

Curly Film Chick - Page 3 Empty Tending to itchy scalp

Post by Curly Film Chick 1st January 2010, 2:40 pm

Happy New Year!

So yesterday I realized that I had really dry scalp, especially in the front. Like it was really itchy. I suffer from dry scalp in general and have to pay extra attention to it, but the cold has made it worse. But I remembered I had tea tree oil so I rubbed some in my scalp and instantly the itchy feeling went away. I forget how useful this oil is and how much I love this stuff. My scalp is happy =]
