The challenge info is on page 8. I'm planning on 6 weeks. To help keep my look fresh and to keep myself from going bored out of my mind (lol), my styles are rotating every 2 weeks: 2 strand twists, twist to coils, coil out/wash n go. I'm pretty excited!

Thanks Rosebud! I will definitely keep the fotki updated (which I have been so lagging on). I will post pics of each style, my regimen for that style, and pics of the products that I'll be using.

Hey Sweet, my plans this weekend are pretty laid back: the GF and I are going to see 'Why Did I Get Married 2' on Saturday and hitting up the gym. When we get back I'm going to do my hair. Sunday is a work day for me. I'm doing make-up for a Pamper Party/Photoshoot for a local salon. I'm going to try to get some of the pics so you ladies can see some of my handy work.

Re: Natural in Wonderland
Love the headband/belt with bangs look. Creative use of the belt that served no real purpose. Must remember to check belts next time I want to pull hair back, great idea!
As for challenges, I have only done one. I did okay. I wore small twists for about three weeks. You can do it!
I look forward to seeing some of your handiwork. I am loving makeup--well eyeshadow.

I am so happy that the weekend is here! I have a few plans but the most important one is that I am finally starting my personal twist challenge! I may do mini twists this time, depends on how patient I feel. I will also be doing a length check, pre poo, poo,dc, and buttering my scalp. My Gf will be my official photographer and I will be updating my Fotki on Sunday or Monday.
Hope everyone has a beautiful Easter weekend!
Love!
~Seffy and Savvy
Great! While you are doing that I am doing a personal cornrow challenge - not for as long maybe a month. I'll be watching for those updates!
Personal Twist Challenge begins...and new products!
Happy Monday Ladies!
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter! Mine was good even though I had to work. Fewer people than expected showed up for the photoshoot but I wasn't that surprised since it was Easter Sunday and it was raining cats and dogs. We got some really nice shots and I'll post them when I get copies.
In hair news: I began my Personal Twist Challenge on Saturday!
I also get some new products that I am thorougly in love with. On Saturday the GF and I went to the movies (Why Did I Get Married 2...ps<--- it goes there! Great performances from Malik Yoba and Janet Jackson) and then we went to our local Target to pick up some Natural hair products, specifically the SheaMoisture line. Our target had nothing. It was sad, we asked one of the associates and she said that the closest Target that was carrying SheMoisture was two towns over. Off we went! I ended up getting the SheaMoisture Restorative Conditioner (can be used as leave-in or rinse out) and Giovanni 50/50 Shampoo. I love, love, love them! Seffy feels super haydated and moisturized. My twists came out amazing!
What I Did:
1. Pre-poo'd/DC with Vatika Oil and Lustrasilk MoistureMax Olive Oil Hair Mayonnaise
2. Let sit for 40 minutes under plastic bag and satin cap (for heat)
3. Massage into scapl/hair and rinse out with warm water
4. Wash with Giovanni 50/50, rinse with warm water
5. Cowash with Aussie Moist, rinse with cold water (I shrieked a bit when the water hit my scalp)
6. Use tshirt to squeeze out extra moisture
7. Add SheaMoisture Restorative Conditioner as leave-in
8. Seal with shea butter
9. Grab and twist with ORS Loc and Twist Gel, rewetting as needed with moisture spritz.
Going to update my Fotki with pics and product shots.
Happy Hair!

Hey FF,
Your twists look good. Congrats on liking your products. That is the best feeling to buy a product and like it. I hate wasting money and I don't have room for more useless products!

Hey Ladies!

Since I was living and breathing school I didn't take as many update pics as I wanted but I will be doing that this week and updating my Fotki as well as posting pics here.
I'm off to check threads!
Love!

weeks. All I really do is leave it alone! Sleep in a satin cap at
night, spritz in the morning for moisture and to help redirect the
twists that are going everywhichway (this would probably be alleviated
if I wore a scarf so that they lie down but whatev), and satin cap
under my knit hat and that's pretty much it. I twisted with ORS lock
and twist gel with shea butter underneath. Seffy is definitely on the
kinky/coily side. She holds styles pretty well without a lot of extras.
I also refresh my twists once a week. After cowashing and moisturizing, I apply shea butter to each twist and coil it so the roots are tightened. Does that make sense? I don't undo and retwist, just uses shea butter and twist the twist. I'll post a pic tomorrow so you can compare from last week.
I will be posting new pics and updating my fotki. My style still looks pretty much the same as it did in the pic from last Sunday (see above) but since Seffy is getting longer some pinned styles will be added. I also have some new hair accessories that I want to wear.CocaColaCutie wrote:yea pics please if you have them!NubieNatty wrote:welcome back!! so u been braided/twisted up for the past 2 wks? how did u maintain that....

Don't be mad but...
I have no pics to post today (ducking). I came home exhausted and forgot to snap pics and forgot again the way out the door. I'll probably take some pics with my phone a bit later.
In hair news: Not much new. Just spritzed and ran my fingers through it. As you may have noticed by now I am EXTREMELY low maintenance when it comes to actual daily styling. I love trying out new treatments and routines on the weekends but during the week it's all KISS. I am not a morning person and anything that requires detail and coordination is too much to handle at 5 am.
Hope everyone is doing well. Did I mention that I missed you all last week? I did. So glad to be back!

Hi Chrs! Workouts are going well. Still not doing as much as I would like but that will change this week! I already have a workout schedule planned out. I'm going to kick it into high gear so I can drop some pounds by the end of May (maybe 10-15). Doing a fruit and veggie cleanse as well to realign my system. You and Lynn are my inspiration!

Happy Wednesday!
How happy am I that it is Wednesday? Ecstatic actually. Tomorrow is my last night of Esthetician training! Tonight I'm bringing cookies to class and another girl is bringing spaghetti, it's a celebration! I will miss my classmates though.
In hair news Seffy is holding up well in the twists. I am going to take them down this weekend for the SF Bay Area CN Meetup. I'm going to separate the twists into coils and rock that for at leat two weeks. Today was another spritz and finger style day.
I'm off to check the threads!
Love!
