Hola Ladies!

I just made it home from a mini- meetup with SisterBoyd and TheRyl1. We had a great time. We ate at a veggie restaurant and hit up Target, Whole Foods, The Vitamin Shop and a couple Indian shops. The PJ in me is very happy. I purchased the following items:

SheaMoisture Deep Treatment Masque
Sheamoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie
Giovanni Smooth as Silk
Aloe Vera Juice
Vatika Oil
Amla Gold Oil

I did not need any of them, of course. But, they will all be used. If MM hates them, they will be in the swap thread .

I'm about to moisturize MM and re-flexi rod/twist her. I am going to use the curl smoothie. So a review or rant may be following LOL

I had a great time, too! We gots to do that more often!

I had my PJ-ism under control...all I bought was some henna and Curls Coladda Conditioner. That was it...OK..I did get a cute skirt!

Can't wait for the rant or rave on the curl smooothie! LOL

I loved the sheamoisture! It is true that a little goes a long way with that stuff. Here's what I did, with pics to follow!

I spritzed my hair with a little water, glycerin mix. I then applied a slight smear of the curl smoothie to my hands (imagine just a fingertip amount) and rubbed it into the section. I then applied a little aloe vera gel, for stronger hold and vatika oil to my ends, to seal. I then two strand twisted and set on flexi rods w/ end papers. This morning I unrolled, fluffed and accessorized with a cute headband for church!





The next time I do this, I will not set the ends on end papers, it made my ends straight!

My hair is extremely moisturized, bouncy and fluffy. The aloe vera gel helped to ensure that there was definition. The product says curl enhancing, I say, not so much. But, it's definitely moisturizing, which is what MM and I need.

*Sidenote: The product has a strong smell. It's a great smell, but strong at first. I actually became nauseated after 3 twists and had to go drink some gatorade! This morning the smell had been greatly reduced, but beware, it can be a bit much at first!

MM is looking bountiful this morning, so I had to snap a few pics before work! This is a giant bantu knot out. I did medium ones in the front, which came out curlier and large ones in the back, which came out a bit bigger. Enjoy:

love the review n u definitely had big hair. i had to keep staring at the pics saying...waaaait a minute..didnt she just cut her hair! its growing back EXTRA full i see. u scored some good buys wit the vatika n amla gold oil. i've been incorporating those in my reggies with good results. my hair stays moisturized longer w/hella shine!

i use the vatika to pre-poo w/a touch of the amla too!

Nubie, it does seem to be getting thicker! I think it's the henna and amla powder! I am going to pre-poo with the vatika this weekend! I haven't yet!

Glad you enjoyed the curl smoothie TerraD. I still love that stuff but I have more shrinkage when I use it so I only use it when I want a gradual let down of my twist outs.

It does lead to shrinkage. My hair gets so soft it just shrinks LOL

Hey ladies!

I'm not one who believes in miracle products, but this sheamoisture is making me see a different side of MM. She has been moisturized for days without any touchups and every person at my job has asked to touch my hair. One guy asks every time he sees me, he has thus been dubbed as having "jungle fever" LOL.

Last night I braided my 2 day old bantu knot out, while watching the stepfather (creepy movie!) and set the ends on rods after rubbing a finger tip of oil on the loose ends. I did not plan to work so I figured it would be fine, though I had not moisturized.

I woke up to realize that I indeed had to work. I quickly removed the braids and rods to find an amazingly soft and fluffy, defined braid out! It was amazing. I snapped pics right before running out of the door:






Excuse the parts, I hadn't gotten a chance to fluff properly!

I am now home, after running around the hospital learning how to do cool stuff with tracheostomies! My hair is even more amazing now. So amazing I even did a length check for you guys! Check out these pics (excuse the soft lighting):




It looks like my hair is inching past APL by at least 1/4". Woot! No Heat until Nov. 20th, 2010! BSL here I come! Healthy hair Woot!

That hair looks Awesome!!!! OMG! Sheamoisture huh? The definition is sick!! I love the last motion shot! It really shows how the spiral goes right to the tip. I LOVE it!

OMG! I missed you all sooooooo much!

I've had a crazy month and could not get on here to chat and share hair status! MM is doing well though, I've been rocking the braidout for the past month and my hair is reaping the benefits of daily moisture!
My hair has gotten uber thick! I can tell where it's thickening up the most, and it's been looking great!
I still have minimal curls, but whatev. I'm going to just live with it.

In other news, I finished my residency!!! I'm officially official! And as if that's not enough, I went to an Open House at UCLA's Nurse Practitioner program! I'm going to apply to start next fall, we will see!

I'm about to head out, but will be back soon with pics and other info!
