Hey Ladies!!

I know its been a while but I'm here. Just been experimenting with big twists, twist outs and WnGs.

I did a WnG Friday Night with KNB Herbal Gel.

I learned that my hair will probably never hang with a WNG. I need to find something to put under the gel. Plus I have HIH syndrome really bad.

I have worn it all weekend and it looks like a spirally afro. I may wash it tonight or I will recreate my Friday work look with smoother edges.

I will have pics later.

So, Sheetacular, I see you are a KBN fan as well. I have given up on wngs that have hang. Mine shrinks up every time although it gets bigger after a few days. People always ask me if I cut my hair. I like the versatility of that but, ummm... I work hard for my hair; I want her to show up and out! Wink

I also get HIH really badly. How do you get past that? Do we even try? LOL

Hey ladies!!

Ok I have tried the Yes to tomatoes and yes to cucumbers. The Tomato is okay a lil slip. The cucumber is uber awesome. It instantly softens hair. I don't care for eith shampoos they are very drying even with a prepoo. I'm glad I didn't pay full price.

I have been experimenting with wash n gos well I guess its not really a wng cuz its a longer process so its more of defining my curls. This time after I conditioned I added Giovanni DLI then after it soaked it added some kbn butter and twisted into sections after the twistsdried a bit I smoothed in KBN herbal gel to each section of the twists. It was late at night again when I finished so it was smooshed when I woke up. I wet my hair in the shower and wrapped my hair in a tshirt to soke up some water then added oil. Its very curly. I have springs and spirals every where. After this I think I will go to my twists until time for the wedding next weekend. I have fairy knots and hair strands knotted together. So I guess play time is coming to an end. I'm not sure how long a WnG will actually last cuz it still looked good yesterday before I washed it. I have been reviving with water and oil which seems to be the best. It dries shiny and soft.

So I guess I'm on my way to having great curls.

My hair in the back is a looser curl. When wet it hangs it looks like I have a mullet but when it dries it shrinks up and looks like the rest. Very interesting.

TTYL smooches.

Hey SHee,

I was just checking in on you. I converted my WNG into a braid out. I think this weekend I am going to put some twist or braids in the front and twist the back. We will see. I have to get my mind right. Hair will take several hours out of my weekend, LOL!

Today's WnG
The phone camera don't really do it justice. You can really see the red from the henna gloss.

Shee, I also have a blad spot in a similar area. Although mine has fully grown in to cover the scalp, but the length isn't the same. What styling measure do you take to help with that or do you just leave it as is?

The last time I did a WnG I placed the hair over it after I shook my curls to loosed that way they would dry towards the back and just fluff to cover.

With twistouts I twist across the spots so short hairs will clump with longer ones. Works better with dry twists than wet ones cuz the shorter hair just curls up and out of the twists.

As you can see today I just shook and went. I'm not as self concious as I use to be cuz it's only temporary.

I hope this helps!!

SheeTacular's Hair Journey - Slide show! - Page 23 Empty Puff n Pompador

Post by SheeTacular 20th May 2010, 6:19 pm

I did this style off my first WnG. I used KBN Herbal Gel. I parted a bang and twisted the bang with kbn butter and gel and let dry over night.. I wet my edges and put gel on and brushed. I pulled my puff back with a knee high and wet my puff and applied oils. I untwist the bang then divided it into three pieces and loosely twirled each piece and pinned to make a pompadour.

Hi Shee,
Your wash n go turned out nicely. I like the pomp in the front.

You mentioned that the area where your hair is thin is temporary. Are you using anything in particular for that area to help it fill back in? I only ask because my mom has a thinning area almost identical to where yours is located. She lost her hair from chemo treatments. I would love to recommend some things for her to try.

Thanks!

I've been using Bee Mine Growth Serum with Sulfur. I have more new growth in that area and I still have some smooth spots. I also try to massage my scalp and be gentle with the hair thats there.

I hope that helps. I believe its temporary because I also pray over it as well.

Thanks for the love ladies.

Nubie I lub you girl but you know you will lose a hand if you touch my stash.

Ok well I don't have to worry about a hairstyle for the wedding this weekend. Instead of going to GA for my cuz wedding. I'm going to New York for another cuz funeral. I really wish I could do both but the easiest way to do that is to fly and I don't have the money for that.

I haven't seen any of my extended family since I big chopped. A few of them have seen pics. This is going to be interesting.

I really wished I had got my mom up there on mother's day weekend. She wasn't in the frame of mind to go so I didn't push. I'm glad my cuz isn't suffering anymore but I will really miss her.
