I've never had a professional hair cut....never.
I've only been to a salon 4 times throughout my entire life and 2 of those trips were right before my wedding.
Lately, I have been thinking about making a trip to a salon to get my hair evened up. It's kinda annoying to pack and pull my hair into a nice round afro when I want to wear it out

last night I was looking at the ends of some of my twists trying to find some split ends to destroy and I was shocked to not find any at all. I did find three fairy knots but no split ends. Amazing:cheers: I guess the bunning and deep conditioning worked.

I got my henna in the mail. I can't wait to try it. Although, I will admit that I am nervous. And I have to wait until next weekend because I have so much crap to do

DH and I are supposed to be going to wedding this weekend. I am looking forward to it because it's a reason to dress and do my hair big. I love big hair-Chaka Khan big! However, I have a lot of homework that has to be completed before Sunday and it's hard. I don't know if I will be able to go on the trip.

I wish I could sneak in some naps. But it's hard when you have a micro manager. I can hear her walking up when I am on the internet so she hasn't caught me on here yet, lol

I found today's entry very interesting and it made me think about how my hair feels when it is naked. There have been times when I washed, conditioned my hair, and put some plaits all over with out applying any product. I never really paid attention but doing that really showed me the condition my hair was in. The roots and 1/2 way down the length of my hair was very soft. However, the from the 1/2 way point down the ends was hard and rough feeling. I believe that was due to heat damage. Y'all know how we would use that bumper iron every morning to get that Aaliyah look, she used to be my hair idol, LOL. She was so cool!


Every time I flat ironed and bumped my hair, I was channeling Aaliyah.
I have nothing against straight hair now but I do love my curls more

Love your hair and your fotki! I think it is marvelous that you've never been on the creamy crack...lol. I have been natural going on five years, and my hair is still changing, getting better (healthier) since I left that stuff alone!

I was really hoping for bigger hair but after I taking out my twists I looked the defined look I had so I kept it. I was hoping to do something nice for DH's hair but time was not on our side.

I am so mad at myself. I left every single bobby pin that I own in DC along with my new rat tail comb. Now I have to go buy new items because the house we stayed at....the owner left for the holiday and will be gone for a while. I need my bobby pins!

I made today a hat day because it's cool out and I firmly believe that my job is not going to turn on the heat this winter.

Since I have to go to the hair store, I am trying to come up with a list of things I have been wanting but had no reason to purchase. Since I have to go to the store now...I think that is a good enough reason.

Big hair plans for me this weekend. I am going to use the Henna I won...my first time using Henna, I am extremely nervous. I am still on the search for a recipe. I have no clue where to start with this process. I am scared about making a mess or the chance that my hair might come out crazy.

I also have a new style I want to try. I was worn by the fabulous Alica Keys and I am going to attempt to put a textured twist to it.

Tonight I have to cook and also work on DH's hair. I finally figure out the basket weave technique by watching videos on YouTube. I think that by learning new styles to do on his hair that it will increase the number of styles I can do on my two strand twists.

So check this out...although a lot of folks only know me for wearing my hair coily kinky & curly, I still get a lot of "hate" from folks. (This is me, get over it). Anyways, I find it funny that one of my biggest hair foes actually came to me for hair care advice. This was my chance to really be mean, but I didn't do it. It was only the "God in me" that kept my attitude in check. I get really sensitive about my hair and comments made about it. Think about those "don't be talkin bout my momma" days - that's me and my hair. I gave the best advice that I could and referred some sources. This just proved to me that most haters are envious and I should just take it as flattery.


Oh, and today is another hat day!! (it's cold out)

I need more hats! I agree with you on the fact that I get defensive when people make comments about my hair. I've learned to just fake a smile and nod as if I'm going to take what they say to heart. LOL

How is the Aloe Gro working for your hair? I saw the vid on your blog and I was thinking about trying it out

@satindoll: As of now I am not noticing any superhuman growth but I do love how it makes my scalp feel moisturized and refreshed. I think that even if it doesn't encourage growth, I am going to continue to use it for the moisturizing properties.

I am going to take them out for a Thanksgiving Day Twist out...Stay Tuned!
