Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Tia,
Do you use rubber bands and then twist? I know you couldn't have used clips for your entire head of twists. Did you braid a little first and then twist? Inquiring minds want to know .

You mean the twists I have now? No rubber bands or clips I just twist on damp hair. I try the braid a little first technique but like I said before...I am hair lazy. I was not about to go through all that, LOL
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
I parted each section, the grab and go doesn't work for me because I always miss some strands
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
tia! I had a few unraveling ends last night too! I really love twists, mine just hate cooperating! I hope it will get better as my hair grows, right now stretched my hair is near (about an inch) away from APL.

WOW you grow girl!!!
I think I am going to make one of those length check shirts (I have tons of white tees from my college days) and see how far my twists are reaching. I am trying hard not to watch my growth because I want to be surprised the next time I henna and roller set.....but I haven't checked since Nov
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Yeah I blow dried back in october and length checked and I was about 2 inches away from APL. The hair cut that I got in May made my sides shorter than the back, so they aren't as close to APL, so I won't claim APL until the sides reach APL! I'm sure you are near BSL! Your twists are long!

Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Tia I am the same way. The hair near my neck never stays curled/twisted unless it's a wash n go.
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
The unraveling is only one of the reasons why two strand twists are not my friend and flat twists are. TSTs never want to cooperate lol
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Tia, I am taking notes. Twist on damp hair and different styles once a week. I may try small twists again next month. I like the pin up. I'll be back to get more pointers.
I read your name for the wrap wrong. I was like Tia does not have a "more" head.

Sleeping with two strand twists
I used to always get frustrated with them falling out of my bonnet, moving around and unraveling, or just getting frizzy before the week is over. The other day I came across this FOTKI album and I have been tying down my twist at night the same way she ties down her bun and for the past two night my sleep and my morning twists have been great

Tiashauntee, How can I start my own Fotki! I love looking at the pics you post from there and would like to start my own, as a way to keep track of growth!

Just go sign up (for the free account) then every certain number of days you can request more free storage. Then you can organize you hair by style (that's what I do), by time, or by year. Come on and join I would love to see your hair pics. I saw the before and after of you on BGLH....I was like "Look at TerraD with straight hair" LOL
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Casual Day=Hat day!! How sad is it that casual days are what I look forward to throughout the week, LOL
Last night I moisturized my hair with Aloe Gro and sealed with a new mix - Castor oil/Avocado oil. My ends were super curly and popping:pd: I don't know if it is from consistently moisturizing and sealing (M&S) all week or if it was from the new combination. Either way I was so in love with the results that I walked around house with my twists exposed for a few minutes. I normally tie them up as soon as I get home. I forgot to take pics but if it happens again tonight...I will do just that. I did have to redo 4 twists in the back. I put on some super holding cream so those suckers will stay. I think it's working because they are still twisted:run:
I have been collecting pics all week of some loc updos that I want to try on my twists. I am anxious to see what I can come up with. My only issue is I have loved M&S all week and I don't want to have to stop for a style. However, I do know that low manipulation will help my twists last all month....what is a girl to do, "nappy girl drama" is what my friend calls it, LOL (she's natural too).
So what do y'all think I can do about that?

Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
that is a dilema, but knowing you..you won't leave them up too long..so do your M&S when it's time to restyle..how is that?
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
I am going to spritz the hair exposed to M&S. I have a spray that is a pretty good oil mix.
Ingredients
Cocos Nucifera (coconut)
Glycine Soja (soybean)
Aleruites Moluccana (kukui)
Essential Oils of - Citrus Medica Limonum
Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (bergamot))
Mentha Viridis (spearmint)
Parfum

LOL @ "look at TerraD with straight hair"
I say try the styles and still spritz like you said. I've been M&S all week too and my roots are nice and shiny. My ends are nice and moisturized too! I'm running out of the oil that I've been using, so I may grab the one that you're using.

The one that I am using now is the castor/avocado oil mix. I will try out the Nature's shine next week. I hate stopping a good thing, lol
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Yeah, my hair loves any oil with castor and/or coconut oil. My aunt thinks that I should just mix my own oils. I guess I should stop being lazy! I saw avocado oil at whole foods. Where do you get yours?

Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
My vote is low manipulation. Just think of your hair growth from your last comparison shots. You can do it !
