Re: Eco custard
Woah! This is a breakthrough for me. I've always used these products for my twist out and it was painful b/c I had all these jars and bottle open on my counter and I was constantly dipping and dripping everywhere....why didn't I think to make an "EcoCustard" ??!?! I love this! Can't wait to whip some up. Thanks ladies. A+ for simplifying.

Lucky you girl. I am not so crazy about this gel.

Also what brand of aloe vera gel do you use?....I actually have the plant could I use that?
Any pure aloe Vera gel that sates it is 100% is good to use (not all are). I use Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel and it is my Holy Grail. I mix it with EVERYTHING!

I stopped using the eco custard for a minute (I was addicted to something else). Well I pulled it out and it's still the bizness!

Re: Eco custard
Hey are yall using this for dry twistouts?
I've been trying to find a product that was inexpensive to do my dry twistouts that won't leave my hair feeling dry. I used to use Miss Jessie's buttercreme but that's like $30 and I don't want to spend that much. Suggestions welcomed.

NeeC1 I get mine from The Vitamin Shoppe. I bought the Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil - cold compressed. I loved it. I ran out and I need some more!
Re: Eco custard

Eco-Gel is on sale at Sally's for $2.99 for that 32oz jar.

@CurlyMo -
Based off my understanding EVCO is Extra Virgin Coconut Oil.
@Naturalin2010 -
I'll certainly looking into the Vitamin Shoppe, I don't have one necessarily close to me, but I'm so down for a roadtrip.
@yldthng -
Girl ... I bought the Eco-Gel a few weeks ago ... got it for $2.45 (got my Sally's card). Oh yes, yes! (LOL)

Re: Eco custard
Ok, after reading and looking at pics, I whipped up my batch to do my hair. (Had everything right here too!!!!!). It's funny how it changes color when mixed to make it look like a custard. I'm gonna use it on dry hair. Wet hair leaves too many parts behind on my head.

Re: Eco custard
Hey missyCee.. i am not a gel chick either, but i thought that i would give it a try. I cannot get my twist and twist to have any sort of definition or last and i made this. It turned out completely different with all the ingredients added.
I actually just used this and we'll see if it works.

Hey Ladies, I mixed up a batch of the custard but it left my hair a big poofy mess. I may have added too much AVG to it but my hair did not like it all.

I plan to use for dry twist outs. Wet twist outs cause too much shrinkage.Hart-4-Naturals wrote:Hey are yall using this for dry twistouts?

Re: Eco custard
My style is very similar to Ms. Yldthng scalp short with small curl pattern and I love my hair this way I BCed Dec 15th 2010 and at first was kinda shame to show out my new look because of thin spots that really showed up mainly in my crown. Will castor oil help and when should I apply? Congrats on the weight loss I also have an elliptical (the old Power Train which came out I think in 1999 or 2000) and I still use this bad boy too!

Re: Eco custard
I tried it twice. No good for me. I used a lot the first time and had coated hair. My fault, but then the second time I used very little. I did a combination twist and braidout. (I use braids instead of twist in certain parts of my head to reduce frizz). The results were pretty, but it was just dry the next day. I used a leave-in underneath. I'm going to try it one more time with a heavier leave-in and see if I get better results. I have an entire jar of it.
Anybody try it for a wash n go? Maybe I should try that.

Re: Eco custard
Hello Ladies,
I'm new to this blog. I tried the Custard on Friday night on dry hair and my braid out was okay the next morning. I found the front came out better because I used more product. Saturday night I used more Custard to each section and am loving it this Sunday morning.
I add castrol oil, olive oil and jojoba oil to the mix.
