Thanks Serenity...that color is a result of henna on top of some permanent color. I am really starting to like the results. My hair is starting to feel much stronger!!

Hey CG...

I know Penny is really being on her best behavior!!! The color is the result of 2 henna treatments. I am really like the results this time....I guess Mr. Xander drinking up my lemon juice worked out best now I know to use ACV with my henna for color, and its not as drying!!!

I am so grateful for a three day weekend!!! I plan to rest at some point between Saturday and Sunday so I can check out the Original Fragrance Shop with Curlsunfurled Monday. Being the product junkie that I am I can't wait!!! LOL

Anyway...I have a lot going on this weekend beginning tonight with the 1st of 3 graduations that I have to attend between today and Sunday. I'll try and take pictures...I'm putting my camera in my purse before I leave today!!!

Update on Penny...I have so much to do this weekend I had to put Penny in a puff. I know I will not have the time to re-twist every night so..I had to do something that does not require a lot of maintenance at night!!! I don't want to leave one party early because I have to go home and re-twist my hair!!! LOL As I was co-washing with Suave...(trying my best to detach from Bed Head MM) nothing personal, but until I can find it at HEB for $15 I will NOT pay $21.99 for. So...back to what i was trying to convey here.. I noticed how strong (if that's the best way to describe it) my hair felt. I don't know if its from the henna or the results from using Giovanna Direct Leave-in conditioner, EVCO and the cream I'm using for moisture before I style. Nevertheless.....Penny feels so good now!!!

SN: Last night I had to attend a youth workers meeting at church, and there was another natural sister there. She was rockin a wNg and we were both in the meeting suffering from HIH bad!!! I looked at her and laughed to myself. I was thinking...I really don't remember having this problem when I had my relaxer!!!

So why do we suffer from HIH with our natural hair? Thoughts, comments....I would love to hear what everyone thinks about this topic!!

I may not be on much this weekend, but I will check in every morning to see how everyone is doing!!!

Look at you and Penny over.....cutting up!! You are doing all kinds of styles....that didnt included a puff!! Looking good over here!!!

As for retwisting at night, do the twist bigger. You hair is already defined and doing the twist bigger, will make bigger hair.

When I hop in the shower in the morning I take my scarf and bonnet off so the steam can hit my twist, then I untwist after I get dressed. That should cut back on the frizz you were experiencing.

I'm glad the Chicoro technique is working for you...I learn this technique from BlackOnyx months ago and was happy I did!!

I think we suffer from HIH because of how the texture of our hair feels. With relaxed hair its just straight. With natural hair your hair feels coily,curly,kinky,wavy,etc. Its just a lot of different textures that many of us are not used to and just can't keep our hands out of our hair.

Girl i swear we have so much in common that it is scary , my son too will be attending summer school this summer and I hope this is a lesson learned for him. I tried to tell him that he was headed in that direction but he does not believe fat meat is greasy. I bet he does now, I told him I should make him repeat the 4th grade, maybe he will get it right the second time around. ARRRR

I noticed that as well I left a message in your thread...let him go because it will be his last time. He will so not enjoy summer school...LOL Trust me been there done that one too with Mr. Xander as well.

My sons don't listen so I let them learn the hard way, and them they come to me to fix it!!
