Re: Life of a Curly GIRL :)
Sooo I just realized Im going to be 29 next week. My how time flies after 21! LOL. Im so blessed and thankful, I truly am.
Hows everyone doing this AM?
The hubby and I are on week 6 of P90x and I tell you, working out 6 days of the week is not the easiest but its definitely increased our agility, energy, and bodies in general, we've both lost weight feel good. Its a 90 day program which focuses on "muscle confusion" which helps prevent plateaus in weight loss. I believe its worth the money but you have to truly commit to it and you know that you may not see huge weightloss results in the first 30 days but itll come over the course of time.
Im going to Puerto Rico with my maids of honor in May and Im trying to get beach body ready!
Hope yall have a great day ladies

Re: Life of a Curly GIRL :)
Good Morning Lovelies!
Im excited and nervous about trying these flexi rods on my hair. I think Im gonna try the twist and curl method tomorrow for this wedding that Im going to. I want my hair to be stretched and fluffy for the wedding. I hope it comes out cute because I really like wearing my hair down on the weekends, I generally wear it bunned to work.
In other news, I lost another 2 lbs with this p90x! Im excited yall, gonna keep going....Yall have a great fridays eve~~!

Re: Life of a Curly GIRL :)
Happy Monday everyone!
Soooo I did my flexi rod set this past weekend, it was a total fail LOL...I cant post those pics guys, it was horrible. I salvaged some of it because I pinned my hair and left a few curls out for the wedding I attended saturday. Im gonna wash and DC with this argan oil conditioner I bought and maybe do something different with it for my bday this weekend
Hope yall have a great week!!

Re: Life of a Curly GIRL :)
So this weekend is my Birthday weekend......nothing too big planned, Hubby did buy me my first pair of Uggs yesterday tho woot woot!!! Im super excited I've been wanting a pair for a while...But Im gonna go purchase two new products this week, Elasta QP Mango Butter and Shea Moistures Curl Enhancing Smoothie. I need to try some new products for twist outs and braid outs so Im gonna try those. I went to a wedding this past weekend where one lady had a gorgeous braid out with using the Mango butter, I think she also used Twist and Loc gel, but Im not a big gel user, especially for anything other than my edges. I will try these products and let you guys know my results and I'll take pics...
Oh, I meant to tell yall, when I did my flexi rod set I tried the Jane Carter Solution Wrap and Roll and the Tre Semme Heat Protectant spray, I LOVE those two products!! The heat protectant leaves my hair smelling great and its easy to apply, and the wrap and roll left my hair soft and shiny.
Yall have a great rest of your day!

Re: Life of a Curly GIRL :)
TODAYS MY BIRTHDAY!!!! woooot wooot!!
Im so blessed to see 29 years! I am so glad that God saw it fit to allow me to see another year on this earth, and Im thankful for friends and family
I went out last night and bought my first Shea Moisture product, I bought the curl enhancing smoothie from Target. Yall, Im glad target sells more ethnic products like Kinky Curly, Curls, Shea Moisture, Jane Carter, etc, but some of those products are wayyy too expensive. The Curl Enhancing Smoothie was very affordable, it was $9.99 for a nice size jar and it has a nice consistency so I didnt have to use much at all.
I started out with dry stretched hair
I sectioned my hair into four sections and I put about 4-5 plaits in each section. I put the product on the smaller sections, combed it through and began to plait....I havent taken the plaits out yet, but when I do I will post pictures and do my full review...

Re: Life of a Curly GIRL :)
Hey Yawl!!!
So I realized the power of stretching your hair this past week. After I had that epic fail with the flexi rod set, i combed my hair out and did a braid out with the curl enhancing smoothie and got the look Ive been trying to get for the longest...This is a pic of it pulled back (Sorry its not the greatest)
Heres a pic of the front
Birthday Hair
But I was able to get the wavy look with my hair being stretched to the max and its been lasting for another week.
So Im going to try to stretch my hair with big plastic rollers by doing a rollerset next week. I really like stretching without using harsh heat, I use my bonnet dryer to let my hair dry and I use the tresemme' heat protectant and it stretches nicely.
Chat with yall later :O)

Re: Life of a Curly GIRL :)
OMG P90x is def working ya girl out! Hubby and I start week 9 on tomorrow...Ive noticed a difference in my body and have lost some weight. Im ready to lose these last 15 lbs and keep them off!!
In hair news.....
I changed my wash day to thursdays so Im going to wash and DC tonight. I need to get some big plastic rollers because I REALLY want to do a roller set, Im trying to practice stretching my hair without using flat irons and blow dryers. Tonight Im going to do some plaits and let it airdry.
In other news...
Im looking forward to this weekend, I need to do some spring cleaning around the house, and Im trying to go get a massage/pedi...but we'll see.
Yall have a great week!
