Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
Hi all I'm new to the boards
I'll be 7 months as of tomorrow. I recently had the urge to BC but after cutting a little piece I chickened out. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I have been doing gradual trims so my hair is the shorter is ever been so I don't see myself doing a long term transition. My go to style was bantu knot outs but I just tried flexi rods and I'm liking that better. here's a pic of my current length, there's not much to cut huh[img][/img]

Sunshyne - Your hair looks great. I BCed on August 13th and I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. Now I understand why my friends told me to chop.
Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
Thanks!
Yes, I understand...once I chopped I felt free as a bird!

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
I became seven months as of today...my hair is really dry and lacking conditioning there is no breakage because I deep treat every week...how is the curls milkshake for a leave-in conditioner in 4b hair
I dont understand how to upload a pic so sorry ladies...and I dont know how much new growth I have because I dont comb my hair because of the lack of a good detangler/conditioner...which of the curls product do you thin would be best recommended for a leave-in?

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
I've never tried Curls products. I used Giovanni Direct as a leave-in and sometimes Nexxus Humection or Yes to Cucumbers, but mostly Giovanni.
Do you deep condition? Do you moisturize daily?

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
I do not moisturize my hair daily because I do not know what to moisturize with...but they dont sell the Giovanii line here...I deep condition my hair every week with olive oil hair mayonaisse

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
Have you tried getting a Hair Big Sister? or reading some of the curl journals. They are very helpful. Plus watching Youtube videos. You may find a Youtuber with similar hair and learn about their journey.
You can visit my journal on Curl Walk. It's called Really Renny. I have lots of products I tried listed there. Right now I'm using a spray bottle with Aloe Vera Juice, Glycerin, water and rosemary oil in it. It's working wonderfully, but I had to try several different things to discover this was right for me.

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
Here on Curly Nikki there are Hair Big Sisters. Click this link and see if you can get one.

I also really recommend you read some of the Curl Walk Journals. If you can't find commerical products where you are, there are lots of things women are making on these boards from ingredients you can get in any supermarket like honey, coconut oil, etc.

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
I am just past 7 months! It's pretty darn exciting. Although I definitely do not want to do the BC anytime soon. I am so used to length that I think I would be shocked if I cut it!
Freshly shampooed and conditioned...

Journey2fre3dom, OMG! I can't believe I have finally found someone with my exact texture. I was wondering if you had a fotki account. You hair is beautiful! I am entering into my 7th month and our new growth progress looks right at the same length. Is your hair fine? How would you describe it, and what products work good on your hair?

7 moths post relaxer
So this is the second time I decided to go natural. The first time I did it I was 8 months in, but then I got a relaxer for my sister's wedding. After a traumatic experience with the beautician and the relaxer not taking, I figured it was a sign from GOD to never relax my hair again. I am now at the end of 7 months and I enjoy seeing my natural hair. I love the waves but I am having a hard time figuring out my hair type..If you can help me please tell me because I am super confuse....
I did decide to do BC maybe on my 25th birthday which will put me very almost 2 years in. I am 23 now and will be 24 Jan 18th so lets see... Hopefully I can wait that long lol... WISH ME LUCK IN MY JOURNEY... I WILL DEFINITELY DO THE SAME FOR YOU!!!!
