Re: TWA Growth Challenge
Hey rosebud,
I did my BC on April 9th 2010. After I trimmed it some more the last week in April. The pic below is from the first time and my avatar pic was taken a few days after the 2nd trim.

I guess the format of the date is confusing, lol, we write it that way sometimes in the Caribbean, both ways actually [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . I will use the more regular format.

hey alicia, hope you can get those pictures posted soon. i am not sure what to tell you about the oils, that is a question you need to ask our big sisters. Look in the curl friend forum, or post something in product forum. I am sure someone will help you. I just colored my hair about 3 weeks ago, and i am starting to like it, but my grey is coming on thru. You cant hold those suckers back. I will check back later to see if you have posted your concern somewhere else. TTYL
@Rosebud I will post something on the other forum and see what responses I get back. I will have the pictures up this weekend (Promise). I am in grad school and have finals this week so I have been studying and stressed out about that. So if you hear someone screaming in the city Sunday (it won't be the other fools in the city) it will be me, letting out a big, I can breathe for the summer scream.

Oils don't mix well with my hair; so, my solution for moisturized hair is Qhemet Biologics Karkady Tea Mist, Amla Oil & Heavy Cream and Olive & Honey Hydrating Balm. HTH
@TMS thanks... I will try that and see if that works. Oils do absolutely nothing for my hair, it just sits on my hair and makes it greasy.

curlynattie10 wrote:Hello Ladies,
Alicia - maybe you should try creme moisturizers instead of oil moisturizers. I think Jane Carter has a hair moisturizer that is creme based or Carol Daughter's hair milk. My hair is dry, so it really takes to oil based moisturizers.
@ Curlynatti Thanks, I have actually been using a creme moisturizer by soft sheen. I am going to try Carols Daughter hair milk, I have heard some good things about it. I just want to stick to 4-5 products that work for my hair I refuse to be a PJ. Part of my problem is I have HIH problem and when I do this I notice my hair is dry and frizzy, but the last two days I have kept my hands out of my hair and it doesn't seem as dry.

Re: TWA Growth Challenge
Just checking in here:
I'm having some breakage/dryness issues AGAIN. I guess I'm gonna have to start drenching my hair with moisturizer at least twice a day. If that doesn't work, I'm gonna try cowashing again. And a DC tomorrow should help. I will post some pics up on the 11th when I'm 3 months post chop.
Hope all is well with everyone.

@Swoodward, I always find my hands in my hair twirling my curls [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . I have tried to be more conscious about it the last couple of days and my hair does not look dry and frizzy when I keep my hand out. But when I put my HIH it is just a dry frizzy mess.

Hey you gals! I got a hairline!? All of this time, I was use to looking at this monstrosity of a hair line and thought it was normal but today I was snapping some pics of my curlies and low and behold...a hairline appeared smiling back at me! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Momma got her some baby hairs!

Yes you do! I thought the same thing because the majority of my breakage was on my hairline. Your texture looks amazing!

Hi Everyone,
I did my BC on 2/15/2010. I know I am late to the challenge, but I will follow along with everyone else this month. I am enjoying the threads. Just found this site through references on Facebook. Although I have been natural and BC'd many times due to breakage from the creamy crack, this time I am doing it because I am in love with my natural hair texture and want to wear it natural for life.

*Thank You [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ! It makes me wonder...what the heck was I walking around looking like without a hairline? It's almost like my hairline was dissolved by the creamy crack; thank the Lord that it wasn't permanently damaged.
