Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
Question: What type of styles do you guys do when your hair is in twists? Oh, and what type of products do you use?

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
I'll upload some pics of how I've styled it and also some fotki albums that have AWESOME styles in them! Lynnie already suggested one - Dajo and also Miss Batyah is great too! They are master stylers with twists and braids so you'll get tons of ideas from their albumsKaryn wrote:Question: What type of styles do you guys do when your hair is in twists? Usually I just use a spray bottle mixture to twist:
- water
- Infusium 23 leave-in treatment
- Nexxus Humectress conditioner OR V05 Moisture Milks conditioner OR Aussie Moist conditioner
- Hot 6 Oil
- extra virgin olive oil
- glycerin
I just spray and twist and also use it when my hair feels a little "thirsty". lol another great product is this gel oil custard you can make at home. I tried it for the first time on Saturday and LOVED IT
I'm sure that shea butter whipped with coconut oil would be divine as well (I haven't tried it yet but I think that would be insane moisture!)
That's about it product wise! I'll share some styles I've done with twists as well to give you guys some more ideas. After this class ... LOL
Hope that helps!

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
I want to try, but I'm skeered! I'm not always comfortable wearing my hair twisted in public. I always get compliments, but I always feel like I look a mess. I think I'm going to give a try though. I'm going to try some different styles and try parting it differently to see if I can get them to MY liking. So, I think I'm going to participate. Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
Yay!! I'll most likely be retwisting weekly as well, unless I do some smaller twists which will last longer. Hooray for your daughter being twisted too!Ameenah wrote:my hair usually don't even last a week with twist but I am going to try this challenge so I am in oh my daughter who is 10 I will be twisting her up and her hair will last that long

Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
I would love to join this challenge because I need to keep my hands out of my hair, but my TWA isn't quite long enough for 2 strand twists yet

You can do coils until your hair grows out some more. Just a thought.

Thats true, I've been watching YT videos on how people are doing twists on TWA's so I may either attempt those or coils this weekend, if they don't work out I've been thinking about putting kinky twists back in just to give my hair a break from my hands lol

I thought the same thing. Just try it out and see what you think. You can even do them on dry hair and it will look longer. ...No pressure [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I am so excited about this challenge. Over the weekend, I planned on pinning up one side of my hair and have the twist falling in that direction. Although my hair is short I am going to try it this weekend. It will be a good change from my usual side part.
Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
ok this is my first challenge but after looking at ChrsLvsBks fotki I think I'm going to try this!
Usually my hair just unravels itself when I twist it but hopefully I can find a way to make them stay.

As you see in my fotki, my twists are looser and start to unravel but they don't unravel completely. Tiashauntee suggests adding shea butter to the very end and twirling it. You could also try the curly custard gel Sheetacular uses. I am going to try the custard when I twist.
Re: Twist Challenge!!!!
