NEW TWIST CHALLENGE

I'm one of those people who can never keep their hair twisted or braided for long so I'm doing my own 30 day/ 1 month twist challenge. I'm going to wear a wig over my twists for the ultimate protective style.

My personal challenge will be from July 18, 2010 -- August 18, 2010

My plan is to retwist my hair every Sunday after a deep condition. IF I complete my 30 days challenge, I may start a new one depending on how I feel.

This is a personal challenge for myself, but if you want to join in with your own challenge, feel free to chime in. All are welcome!

I twisted last night...I'm trying to figure out how to twist for protection but avoid SSks...I'm in! I will do a length check tonight.

The only exception is that I will free my hair once a week- on Sundays.

I would like to join in. I will twist my hair friday and let it out once a week. if I can find me a nice wig this weekend I will wear the twist for a month. I will do a length friday.

I've been twisting my hair since June. Every week I wash it out and re-twist so count me in!

I'm in too!!! I've got some two strand twists in right now and curly half wig over them!!

I will retwist every Sunday and wear my hair out on the weekends

This morning I let water run through my twist while I was in the shower, plopped with shirt, and then applied a leave-in conditioner.

The reasoning was to provide my hair with some midweek moisture. I probably should have sealed with oil but I was running out of time this morning. I didn't co-wash my twists because too much manipulation would have made them frizzy.

Can I join? So far I've only worn my hair in twist for like the past two weeks. I usually wash/ condition and retwist over the weekend

I don't do challenges well at all, but I would like to try this one. I will keep Penny (that's my hair) twisted Sunday - Friday and let her out on Saturdays. (maybe)

I've been wearing twists in an updo since last week, so I'm good for a month challenge.

KKM - do we check in every week, or just post our status when we do something different...i.e co-wash in the middle of the week or re-twist?

I've been spritzing my hair daily with Darcy's Botanicals Herbal Leave in Spritz, Moisturizing with Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter and Sealing with JBCO.

I've been working out a lot so I may rinse my hair (without scrunching it) at least every other day.

Hey count me in! I'm new here. I just joined today. Coincidentally my hair are in twists right now. I just CoWashed my hair and twisted it. I would really Love to join.

I would like to join also. I am bad with challenges but I really need to try some protective styling. When i do twist I never keep them in. I will start tomorrow.

I'm in. I'm actually going to do minitwists. I would like to keep them in a month, but that might be pushing it for my poor scalp. I may wash at week 3, and then depending on how they look, I may have to do a twistout. Oh, btw, I'm starting either Sunday or Monday. Depending on when I get around to washing my hair.

I want to join also. I was planning on putting some braids in my hair but I think this will be better for me to start. I will begin tomorrow

I see I'm not the only one that has a problem keeping twists in. This is the longest I've ever kept them in and its only day 5! HAHA!!

How long is everyone's hair? And what products are you guys using?

I'm thinking my hair is about 5 inches but I will measure it this weekend when I do the twist. I was going to do it today but I came home feeling sick...Yuck...hopefully this is not a cold and I will feel better tomorrow. I am hoping to use my amla powder or do a henna gloss before I twist my hair.

I haven't decided which products I will use yet. I am true PJ and I have lots to choose from....lol

To answer my own questions:

My hair is 2-3 inches long depending on where you grab. I shampoo with whatever is around, deep condition with Cholesterol, spray with Darcy's Botanical's Herbal Leave In Spritz, moisturize with Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter and seal with JBCO.

Week One Conquered!!! ~~~~ July 18, 2010 -- July 25, 2010

Today makes week one of my personal twist challenge. This is the longest I have ever kept my hair twisted. I'm so proud of myself!!! Today I poo'd, deep conditioned and retwisted my hair; So I'm all ready for week 2.

Thank you KnottyKinkyMommy for this challange, this is the longest I have kept twist in my hair. one week down, and number two here we come. everyone that knows me know that I love my puff. I have received so many complients with my twist than any other style since I bc'd in March. I pre-poo with vakita oil, wash with my shikakai bar, detangled with vo5 strawberries and creme, and deep condition with aohsr. applied my jbco and retwisted and my hair was so soft I just love the way my hair feels.

Hey Ladies! I fell off the wagon a lil bit my hair was twisted for 6 straight days until i took them down to do a twist out over the weekend. Here we are on monday and im still wearing my twistout. this was my first time *successfully doing it. I will probably retwist tonight after I wash.

to answer the question... im not sure how many inches my hair is, but its about chin length all around with, the back being a little bit longer (.5inch) as far as i products, i have the pantente line for women of color, cantu shea butter, suave conditoner, knot today and eco styler. im working on narrowing my products down
