And Black Graduation is a ceremony for anyone that signs up really. It's essentially the same as regular graduation but it is put on by the African Student Program on our campus. So a majority of the people that participate are African, African American or black or else they associate with the black ethnicity very closely and decide to participate. There are usually African drummers and dancers that lead us out to our seats and instead of the National Anthem, we sing the Black National Anthem. There are awards and banquets that go along with the graduation and we also get Kenti cloth sash that we get to wear for regular graduation as well

My weekend twist out:
I took the twists down Friday night right before going to bed (I don't know why I did that)

On my way to see MURS and Nas perform at my school

Those twist are AMAZING!! I did the same thing, took mine down and went to bed! hhahahaaaa I couldn't wait to see them! Have fun at the concert!!

I took 2 of them out and it was like I couldn't help myself! I took ALL of them out at my friend's house!! I wasn't even home

I had an awesome weekend sis!!!!! The Nas concert was kinda whatever to me. Too many people smoking weed (I was NOT trying to get a contact high, ya feel me? )

But 2 of my friends came to youth service with me and it was OFF THE CHAIN!!!! We had a blast, we praised the Lord, we tore the roof off the church for real!!!!!

Hello curlies!!! Happy Monday

So I had a blast this weekend! I hung out at my friend's apartment Friday night and while I was there, I started untwisting my hair (at around 11pm!). Needless to say, I untwisted to go absolutely no where but at least my hair was cute! LOL

On Saturday we had a concert outside on my campus. The performers were: Little Brother, MURS, and Nas. I had fun with my friends and got to meet MURS! He's a pretty cool guy and he shared his food with me

When Nas was on stage there was entirely too much smoke for my liking! Plus I was NOT trying to have my hair smelling like smoke
So I watched the performance from behind the crowd. There was a screen so I could see but I don't know hardly any of Nas music so I didn't really care either way. Here's another pic from Saturday (I loved my friend's hat! when he had it on he looked soooo country to me though. He has like APL locks and had on this linen shirt and it was funny to my life!!! anyhoo here's the pic )


After that 2 of my friends came with me to San Diego!!! We got to my house and were gonna start watching a movie but we didn't get there til about 11pm and we were a little tired. Plus, Sunday School starts at 9am so we decided to hit the sack but our little baby, hour-and-a-half road trip was fun!!

I separated the twist out for Sunday and here's what it looked like:


We were at church ALL DAY!! But we had the greatest time. Morning service was great, but Youth Service was ON AND POPPIN!!!!! We sang and danced and praised til we almost passed out! It was soooo much fun (and now, as a result, I am a little hoarse from singing so much)

When we got back to the parentals house, we started watching The Blind Side. That movie is amazing! (the part that I saw anyway. lol) While watching that and waiting for Moms to make food (fried chicken wings, potato salad, Hawaiian rolls and chicken egg rolls!) I deep conditioned my hair with this mixture:
- Suave naturals coconut conditioner
- Suave naturals pomegranate conditioner
- a shine serum by Cantu Shea Butter
- extra virgin olive oil

I twisted my hair up after adding the mixture and then went to eat! I was so proud because it took me less than an hour!!
I planned on rinsing the products out and doubling the amount of twists but that did not happen!! We didn't get back to SD til midnight so I just went to bed with the mix in my hair.

This morning I rinsed it out in the shower, shampooed with Dove Daily Moisture shampoo and conditioned with Aussie Moist. I rinsed that out and spritzed my hair with my spray bottle mix (same old, same old) and sealed with a little shea butter. Now the twists are up in a ponytail and the shorter pieces are flat twisted in the front:





I feel like my post was super long today! Sheesh!! But have a blessed day loves

I love Hawaiian Rolls! I ate an entire pack on Saturday! And then drunk to cups of water. PRISON MEAL!
