Hey ladies,

Based on my own preference for drinking juices, lemonade and sweet tea, I've decided to challenge myself to drink only water for 1 week. It's not going to be easy but I really need to drink more water and stop thinking that because the juices are water-based that I'm ok Smile

A few of you expressed interest in joining me in this 1 week challenge so I started this thread so that we can check in, keep each other motivated and accountable. Since I'm just starting the thread, this challenge will run from Wednesday May 5th through Wednesday May 12.

Water, as we know, is good for our overall health, skin and hair so why not give our bodies more of this treat? A few months ago I did a similar challenge and found that although I did go to the bathroom more, I felt better after eating and I lost some weight!

The amount of water you drink per day does not matter in this challenge. It just matters that you drink water with and in between meals, instead of juices and sodas and whatever else. Try to resist the urge to have anything else (I know it won't be easy for me) and your body will thank you later!

Don't forget to check in and discuss how the challenge is going for you!!!

Count me in; I need to definitely drink more water. Well, all I do is drink water but I don't drink enough water throughout the day (64 oz per day). So this challenge will help me get back on track with that, sounds like a plan! Yay!

I started already..but I had my chai latte this morning. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I will nix that for the challenge. I had water only yesterday and I will add now that I am playing on my Wii Fit I don't seem to have a problem with drinking the water. Does that make me crazy?? LOL!

Yay thanks for joining me everyone!!!

@KNH - I used to do the same thing (add crystal light) but I was told it doesn't count Sad Pure water is the key. It's hard...I know.

@Sweet - I was soooo tempted to have ginger ale last night but I didn't. And I can't look at my hubby and kids while they're drinking those nice sweet juices Sad But I was strong and resisted! That's great about your Wii Fit! I want one!

@tasha - that's great that you are disciplined enough to only drink water! The second part of my problem is that I don't take in enough fluids per day too so increasing your intake is great. Right now I'm just focusing on getting water in and hopefully the volume will increase in time. Let us know how you're doing with that!!

Well it 10:45am and I've yet to have a sip of water. I will have to get on the ball. I posted a link that I found interesting, and just thought I would share. Well I just happened to come upon this post. Im in! Ive only had tea (regular black tea, not the delicious southern sweet kind, lol) this morning and thats just water and leaves. OK, I will keep you posted on how the next 7 days goes for me Smile

I'm in...all I drink is water except sometimes when I go to restaurants plus I need to drink more water than what I do through out the day. I just got my kids a wii for their birthday so now I need to get myself a wii fit!

I just came across this challenge but, I'm in! I did have a cup of coffee this morning. Which leads me to say that letting coffee go will be a CHALLENGE! A day late but I definitely wanna join in... I've been pretty good about drinking water but these WalMart $5 24 pack Coke Product specials are killing me. I've been drinking Orange Fanta like crazy... I'm going to hide them from myself until the end of the challenge...

Welcome to the challenge Jlow!

I have a problem that I don't drink enough fluids in a day. I tend to only drink when I eat, unless I'm super thirsty. So I just went and bought a water bottle to keep with me in the house and when I'm out. Hopefully this will make me drink more!

I tried to post all day yesterday, and the send button kept running away from me!!! Evil or Very Mad

So...Wednesday I was able to drink 2 1/2 9oz bottles of water, but yesterday I was only able to drink 1. I've got to do better.

JCurl...can we do this for a month? It takes 21 days to create a habit. I need more time..I'm sinking over here!! lol!

So here's the plan...I'm going to put 4 bottles of water on my desk and try to drink 1 bottle every hour!!! Wish me luck..I haven't had anything to help with my liquid intake so I think I will get some fruit today from our cafeteria. I'm soo missing my Crystal Light....and it's been so hard not to cheat!!! I'm sorry, but I'm being honest y'all. lol!

I'll keep you guys posted!!!
