Yeahhhh for the pics and the new store!!! Now don't make it another month b4 u post pics! LOL! lookin good!
Overstimulated or is it just time for a Makeover?
Good morning ladies!
First things first: My twists are all fuzzy and my scalp is itching I believe that the scalp itch is due to dehydration (I had a lot of wine over the weekend) and the fuzzies are just annoying me. I am definitely doing a coil out this weekend! I am going to stick with my plan to remoisturize and seal my hair as I go through and untwist. I am also going to oil my scalp...maybe some kind of penetrating treatment as well.
In other hair related news...I think I am overstimulating myself with hair stuff that I want to try. I know that I want to color my hair. After waffling between red colors and black colors, I have decided that I want to go red. But not just any red...RED. Like this lady here:
That is my dream LOOK. So I definitely want to have the color the whole time I'm growing my hair. But am I trying to do too much at once? Cuz I also have some new products that I want to try and treatments that I want do... I dunno sometimes it seems like I'm getting ahead of myself.
Have any of you ever had a similar experience?

girl that is so how i feel right now! i want color ...but i want to try all this other stuff too...i say take it one at a time so you hair can get accustomed to one thing...and not have overload which may result in some dryness

I definitely don't want to overload my hair. I want to be as undamaged as possible. That's why I wanted to henna my hair red but I know that the color will not be the true red that I am looking for. Le sigh. Pne thing at a time. I'll wait until I have pretty much gotten a good reggie and some grail products into rotation before I go color happy.

Good idea....everyone I know and stories I've read say they experience dryness due to color. They have to figure out the perfect moisture balance all over again.

Re: Natural in Wonderland
I still use commercial color - it took a long time to figure out what would work so that my hair would not be dry and my curls would not stretch out. This is how I color now: Red Dye
And one of my favorite members on FOTKI has some coloring tips: http://journals.fotki.com/jenteel/

Thanks Tia! I will definitely check out the information. Most likely I'll have my stylist do it a little later one in the Spring. I'm thinking that I'll need to do a protein treatment before and after as well as a deep conditoner.

Happy Thursday!
Good morning lovelies! Thank goodness it's Thursday!!!! I love having short work weeks. This weekend I'll be at school but that's ok...I found out that I am 2/3 done with my program!!! It's a 600 hour program and I will be hitting 400 hours early next week!!! So exciting!!!
On the hair front: The itchiness continued all day yesterday so this morning I spent a little extra time on my hair. I spritzed all over with my moisture spritz (time to make a new batch) until Seffy was pretty saturated but not dripping. Then I spayed my olive oil spray and massaged the mix into my scalp. My edges were pretty dry so payed special attention to them and added shea butter to seal in the moisture. The result was nice and pretty plump. Seffy is def due for a nice cowash. That will happen this weekend. Most likely with a DC thrown in and then the twist out.

Happy Friday!
Nothing super exciting to report on the hair front. Still wearing twist. I'm doing the twist out this weekend. I ordered some Vatika oil from Butters-n-Bars so that should be coming next week sometime. That's pretty much it. Trying to come up with a good regimen that fits with what Seffy likes and what is realistic for my schedule.
Have a great weekend ladies!!!

Happy Tuesday Ladies!
Thanks Chrs! You look wonderful in your new avatar!
So yesterday I was at an advanced skin care class all day so sorry for
no posting. My weekend was nice. Took my ladies (Mom, G'Ma, Cousin, and
GF) to lunch on Sunday to celebrate the February birthdays in the fam
(all 3 ladies are Aquarius'). We had sushi and it was wonderful. My
G'Ma is 84 and scoping the fly silver foxes at the sushi joint!!! My
hair was a big hit with my Mom which is always nice.
I did do my hair this weekend too. Saturday I pre poo'd with olive oil, wrapped with saran wrap, and left it on overnite. Sunday I washed with my BioInfusions, DC'd with my Oilve Oil Protein DC, rinsed, t-shirt dried, sprayed my hair with olive oil and added my BioInfusions Olive Oil leave-in. This was all done with my twists still in. Then using shea butter I unraveled each twist and twisted the separated sections around my fingers in opposite directions (this part required two hands). I went over my whole head this way. I really like the moisture and definition that the twist-now-coils have. This may be my new way to extend a set of twists.
Cute right? That's my cousin Leah. So this weekend or next I'm going to undo the coils and see how that will look. I'm excited!!!

Re: Natural in Wonderland
Hey all!
So yesterday I had to take respite from the outside world. I stayed home from work and school and centered myself which included not being online! I did miss you guys though!
Today I am still rockin the coils. Just sprayed with my new moisture mix (water, bioinfusions olive oil leave-in, and palmer's olive oil), shook, and went on about my business. I am definitely having some serious HIH!!! Some coils are more loose than others so I kept re-coiling them!
Hope that everyone is having a good week so far! It's almost over!!!!
Thanks for the compliment Sweet!

Happy Friday Ladies!
Anyone have any fun plans? I'm doing a Make-Up Test for a party that I'm working in March and then I'm going to pick up my new Fluidity Bar workout system. I've wanted one FOREVER and I found someone on Craig's List is willing to part with theirs. I am BEYOND thrilled.
On the hair tip I am going to do a cowash and possibly a DC so that my hair looks fresh for my audition. I want to look like a Make Up Artist from head to toe.
TGIF my fellow curly beauties!!

How did the audition go? Not only do I love this forum for the sisterhood, but I learn so much. What is a fluidity bar?

Thanks Chrs! Alas I did not take pictures of my audition look. However I will recreate and post. Basically I just cowashed and fluffed. My hair went over well in a BIG way. The place I auitioned was a salon here in Oakland, CA called Nappy or Not (hello? is that a good omen or what) where they specialize in doing locs and natural hair. When I walked in and met the owner and photographer (the owner is rockin a blond pony puff and the photog has locs) they bother raved about my hair.
I also did a cute makeup look that I will post. I think you guys will like it.

Yeah so how much do I LOOOOOOOOVE my Fluidity Bar? A whole bunch! Did the beginner workout on Sunday and could feel it after one exercise. The movements aren't strenuous but they do activate those deep muscles in your legs, thighs, and abs. I am so happy that I can add this to my fitness arsenal!
