Yea. I'd say around June I'll have done my share of experimenting. I really want to get some staple products to perfect my regimen. So far I know the QOHHB is definitely one.

Oh ok. I thought you were saying you washed your hair almost everyday. Lol. That would be no bueno.
Anyway peoplez. I just did an amazing facial scrub. I took some honey, brown sugar, and mixed in some jojoba oil. I applied to my face and scrubbed very gently with my fingertips. My face felt sooooooo smooth. As smooth as a baby's bottom. I love it. I will definitely be adding this to my skin care regimen. I have very dry sensitive skin so I will probably only do this once every two weeks. Oh in case anyone wondered about my skin care regimen. Not that my skin is great or anything. Lol. But I currently wash with Cetaphil Dry Sensitive Skin Bar. I probably won't use this once it runs out. I'll find a more natural bar, but it has to be unscented due to my allergies. Then I apply raw shea butter or a shea butter mix (Oyin Handmade Whipped Shea. Btw, this is different from the Whipped Pudding which I did try on my face, but the scent too close to my nose irritated my allergies). I will now be adding the honey/brown sugar scrub. My skin has improved soooo much since using shea butter. It has evened out my complexion and I don't get flaky like I used to.
I didn't get around to posting henna results tonight so I'll do that when I wake up. Then Monday I'll show ya'll the braid out, which is A-MAZING. Then we shall be all caught up on all the pics. Later!

Re: Juices-n-Berries xal is high and fly!
Hi JnB
I ordered the Whipped Shea Butter from Oyin Sunday. I want to use it on my face as well. I'm currently trying the OCM and I'm having great results!!! I have combination skin...oily in my t-zones and very dry around the mouth and chin area. However, this is really working for me...I do experience a little dryness in my dry zones, but I hope the Whipped Shea Butter from Oyin will solve this for me.
I've decided that I like being a PJ.....it's so much fun trying new products especially if they work out for me, and if they don't I'll get rid of them through a product swap.
Can't wait to read and see your henna results. So you did a braid out!!!! Do we have to wait unit Monday?????
Have a great weekend!!!

actually you do have beautiful skin, lol. shea has definitely done wonders. my son has eczema that comes n goes but the shea (whipped) makes it easier to spread and keeps him moisturized.
i will have to try this facial scrub for my spa day. i also love the thickness of avocado oil too. im takin my trip to oyin in May so ill add the whipped shea...for my son of course
ditto..cant wait for the henna results. i was gonna wait til fall.

The Whipped Shea should still work. I think even people with oily skin have reported good results with shea.
The only reason I'm spreading out the pics is to give people time to look at them. That's why I'm catching ya'll up gradually. If I posted them all at once, it'd be information overload and you wouldn't really have time to read and absorb every style. But don't worry, after the braidout, ya'll will be on schedule and then I can go back to posting daily on what my hair is doing that particular day.

Hmmm. I got some Avacado Oil in a product swap, but I'm not quite sure what to do with it. Any ideas?
Henna results now...

Re: Juices-n-Berries xal is high and fly!
Welcome to this episode, “Henna Me Happy” Now, I will do a re-cap of my procedure for those of you who missed it earlier in the thread. I made my mix by boiling cinnamon and cloves in water. I strained that water which formed a sort of tea (very brown in color) and added it warm to the henna. Next I added a few capfuls of ACV. Finally, I added a bit of water to get the consistency I wanted. I let that sit out for about 18 hours (not by choice). That’s probably too long. Lol. But that’s definitely long enough for dye release. Lol. Here’s the mix the before I applied it:
Here’s the henna once it has been applied to my hair. Now, I did have some help putting it on from my best friend only because she was at my house. But it wasn’t messy at all because my consistency was great.
And here is the result:
You can definitely see the color. Moreso in certain areas. And the shine! WOW! I wish ya’ll could zoom in on some of them. Be sure you at least enlarge. But when I zoom in on my comp, I’m just in awe. I’m really coming to have an appreciation for my curl pattern. It’s not MC curls, lol, but they are mine. And they’re unique. My hair starts curling straight out of my scalp. I’m a definite 4b (4a in some spots), but I’ve always thought that just meant nappy. Not that nappy is bad. But I would have never considered that to be curls. When in actuality it’s just curls on top of curls that curl together and the curls hug each other, hence the tightness. I think you can see that pretty clearly here (oh ignore the relaxed frizzy ends lol)
Anyway, I will definitely be hennaing again. I’m not sure how often, just play it by ear. Once I get the color I want, I may switch to cassia. I love the result. I definitely think everyone should give it a try at least once. It’s not nearly as intimidating as it looks.

Thanks for posting this Jnb. You had some wonderful results. I enlarged the pics and was almost blinded by the shine...good job! I guess I'll give it a try sometime soon. Oh, how long did you leave it on your hair?

Yes, that shine is out of this world. You should definitely give it a try. I'm going to post my henna myth busters in the Henna thread, so check that out too. I left it in for 6 and a half hours. It was in the daytime. I took a quick nap, but I don't like going to sleep with a fully wet head and doing the overnight thing. So I did it on the day I didn't have class.

Great results and your shine was amazing! I used to henna once a month but I think it began loosening my curl pattern in the crown of my head. I think I wanna try Cassia instead.

jnB-your hair looks great. The color and shine are amazing. I am scared to try any color, becuz of bad experiences I had when I had a relaxer. Maybe once I do my research on henna and "cassia" I may feel different. So I will be contacting u for advice.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Hmmm, it is my understanding that cassia will have the same effect as henna on your hair minus the color. You may want to ask MC (MahoganyCurls below) her experience. I think she said she didn't notice any, but some people have. HTH.

Oh and at the curls doing the booty pop. As usual, you have made my day.

Henna or cassia is nothing like a relaxer. Henna is actually like a conditioner or strengthener that coats your hair protecting it, and while doing so it deposits color. I doesn't burn or even tingle when it's on your hair. Some people don't even use it for the color but for the conditioning properties alone. You should definitely do more research and see how you feel. And feel free to ask me any more questions. I'd be happy to answer.

HEY BABYLOVE , YOUR HENNA RESULTS LOOK GREAT AND GLAD YOU LIKED IT. I LOVE THE NEW AVI ALSO.
HENNA IS AWESOME. I USE IT ONCE A MONTH. YOU WILL SEE MORE OF THE CONDITIONING PROPERTIES ONCE YOU CONTINUALLY USE IT. I STARTED OUT USING IT EVERY 2 WEEKS WITH ALMA TREATMENTS IN BETWEEN. THEN I MOVED TO ONCE A MONTH.

Sweet, another henna buddy! LOVE your color, your curls, and your shine!!!!!
I henna'd this AM, and didn't get a color deposit like I wanted (I was going for a red). I added cinnamon to it (to help the scent), so my deposit is more of a chestnut brown--and I only had time to do it for a couple of hours.... *sigh* still got the shine though!
