Re: Juices-n-Berries xal is high and fly!
Ok guys so I have some serious product issues. That tub of KCCC has been staring at me on the counter since I got it. Like from the time I started transitioning, it was the product I heard about the most. And I've been itching to try it since. Then, once finding out the cost, I wasn't so eager. Then, I did more research and lots of people said it didn't work. But when my mom bought it the other day, I had a new ray of hope. Now, I'm still rockin the dry twist out. But I looked at the jar and I couldn't take it anymore. Now I didn't want to take down the twists and wash. So, call me a weirdo, but I undid one twist in the front (my most textured section) and one in the back (where my loosest curls are) just to get an idea of what it would do with the two hair types on my head. I popped open that KCCC, rinsed, applied KT, and shingled those two with the KCCC. Lol. Let's just say. I'm very impressed. They weren't lying about the curl definition. I know I only did two sections so I can't say how it's going to make my entire head look, but I can't wait. I feel ridiculous admitting this. I feel like I've taken PJism to the next level. But don't worry, I'm not going outside like so. I'm going to retwist those sections tonight. Lol. Silly me.

I actually have two different mixes. One with water and one without. I guess I prefer the stickiness of the one without because i use it just on the scalp and it "sticks" without running down disturbing my style. I use this with protective styles. The one with water I use as a spritz to re-wet during styling or as a refresher. That one has more water and only a little aloe gel mixed with the same EOs and some Greg Juice and some Honey Hemp. When I type that it sounds like such alot. Lol. How do u make your mix?
I havent made it in a long time and I wasn't writing things down then. I know its water, aloe gel, Lavendar EO, and olive oil.

Twist and Shout!
The wait is over. I have pics at last. This first post will be titled Twist and Shout. This is my journey of twists and twist outs since I've been natural up to now.
Now, let's take it back. Wayyyyy back. To December. When I first went natural.
I don't even know if I mentioned it, but I made a futile attempt at two strand twists
on my Hawaii trip. They were... interesting... lol
Luckily I was in Hawaii where I knew no one so it wasn’t a huge deal that I looked a HAM. But eh, it was ok for a first attempt. After that I frequented the salon, but after gaining courage, knowledge, and confidence, I decided to start doing my hair myself most of the time. Well, about a month ago I went to the salon where she’d braided my hair in the front and twisted the back. I showed ya’ll those pics already. Remember with the boots at the concert. Well, my scalp was itching and I decided to wash my hair, leave the braids in, and do my own twists in the back. These were much better, but much to scalpy. See
And the twist out was ehhhhhh. Lol.
BUT, I discovered something. All I did was keep seperating the twists more and more. The more I separated, the parts and holes disappeared and pretty soon it was actually looking good. This gave me confidence to know that even if a set of twists goes bad, I can always kepp separating and fluffling to make them look ok. Here’s that result.
Fast forward to last week. I decided to do some dry twists. And well, by George I think I’ve finally got it. It’s still not perfect like LynnieLuve or anything, but I think I’m well on my way. What ya’ll think???
That last one looks gloomy, but I loved the background and artistic feel and well I can be a bit emo. Lol.
By the way, do you see the growth??? A-MAZING! They’re still in, but once I do the twist out I’ll let ya’ll know the result. In the meantime, stay tuned for future picture episodes
entitled… “The Indestructible Coil Out”, “Henna Me Happy”, and “Power Puff Girl".

I love the hair in number 6 and the earrings and hair in number 10. Those earrings are very nice. Were they heavy?

Thanks IB! Nope, they weren't heavy. And you know I have problems with most earrings, but those were pretty ok.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I'm happy to have y'all along on my journey. I couldn't do it without y'all.
Don't think I'll be giving up the earrings for a while. Lol. But I got them at Agaci. They may still have some. :-)

I don't use the aloe gro on my hair. I only use it on my scalp. So I haven't had any issues. I put it in a small spray bottle and aim directly at the scalp avoiding the hair. I know some people do use it on their actual hair though. I do it mainly to fight the itch. What about the JnB? Does it make your hair sticky? The jury is still out for me
You know I have found Oyin's Juices n Berries to be a little sticky, but since I got the Frank Juice in a product swap I stopped using JnB.
So...the aloe grow is only for the scalp? Maybe that is were I went wrong. I may try it again one day!!

Great pics, Juices!
And ur twists were great. After almost a year, and I just learning to do mine right. Yeah! I have been using shea butter mixed with oils and aloe vera gel all week. And I love it. Trying to stay away from the gel, and get my hair acting right again.
Thank you for sharing your journey!

I thought the JnB and Frank Juice were supposed to be the same aside from the smell. Do you find that they work differently?
And I don't think aloe grow is just for the scalp. That's just how I use it. But I think people do apply it to the hair.

Re: Juices-n-Berries xal is high and fly!
Not sure...but the JnB was a little sticky to me (could be cause I used it with Qhemet which needs nothing)
I found the aloe grow to be sticky as well, but it could have been me. I'm very heavy handed!!!

Re: Juices-n-Berries xal is high and fly!
Thanks again to all of the above for your support and kind words. Curlynikki.com is truly a family and I am glad to be apart of something so great. But enough sap. Lol.
Let's get right into EPISODE 2 "The Indestructible Coil Out".
This actually happened BEFORE I did those last set of twists. I still wasn't 100% comfortable with my skills and I had a conference to go to out of town. I didn't want to look a mess. So I went back to what I knew; the salon. I opted for a coil out. I really liked it.
Well ya'll know me and my scalp. I couldn't take it for more than a week and a half. I just had to wash. But I wanted to get my money's worth on the style. So I decided to wash, but not comb or detangle. So I co-washed focusing on the scalp only. I didn't condition because I wasn't sure if it would affect the style. So I applied Qhemet AOHC and sealed with OHHB. Then, I decided to turn it into a puff because the front was a bit frizzy. I used the OHHB to smooth down the edges and a lil Pur Whipped Jelly. Then applied a wrap cap:
And voila! You can see that the coils help up very well. Hence them being "Indestructible" Here's some more fun pics of me with the "Indestructible Coil Out":
