A comment like that coming from another fellow natural...interesting. I wouldn't give if too much attention...some things are not worth the time or the thought!!
Anyway...keep taking pictures so when you get your computer back we can see your different styles.
How are you enjoying this weather we are having? Very different...I don't every remember this much cold, snow and talk of snow.
Have a blessed day.....

In hair news, someone told me yesterday that I have "good hair". I was thinking to myself "Me? You can't mean me? Like have you seen... Nevermind" I was too shocked to even come up with a reply. And this comment was from another natural. I just changed the subject and moved on. I do have good hair because it's healthy. But the good hair she's talking about... well... i guess it's a matter of opinion. When I was relaxed I was called all kinds of nappy. I don't know whether to feel good about the comment or not? What ya'll think?
I say you ignore and keep it moving! She is not worthy of the time it took to type this. Haters will hate!
Re: Juices-n-Berries xal is high and fly!
Hi guys... I'm back. Well sort of. I still don't have my computer back which is why my posts have been minimal. And of course, no pics yet. I'm currently rocking a coil twist out. I didn't do it myself because I had a business trip to go on and I still haven't perfected the twist out. Being a PJ, I have tons of new products, but I have NO idea how to use most of them. So, I'm starting a thread in the Products section to get some advice. Later!

Off to see what new products you have purchased. Im so happy the warm weather is on the way so I can try some new things particularly Oyin products.
Re: Juices-n-Berries xal is high and fly!
Thanks KNH!
@AfrikanLatina- I really like the smell of the Oyin Products. I think the honey hemp condish and Juices and Berries will definitely be on my list of staples. I haven't had a chance to use the whipped pudding or the shine and define yet, but when I do I'll let you know how it goes.

So, nothing new over here. Still the same coil twist out. I'm really anxious to take my hair down and get my hands in my head. But I'm gonna give it a few more days. Henna will be my next venture. Tips?

Re: Juices-n-Berries xal is high and fly!
Check the henna thread for good tips.
My tips when using henna is to do a skin and hair test. Try to use water alone or one acidic liquid. If your hair is dry, I would not suggest using lemon, try orange instead. If you want to add yogurt, conditioner, etc. do it after the henna has released the dye. You can freeze unused henna and add it to your next batch or do a henna treatment with conditioner in between full henna applications. Let the henna sit on your hair at least four hours if you want a color change (it may not be significant initially or ever based on your natural hair color). If you want the properties other than color, leave it on for at least an hour.
Fill a tub or sink with water to remove the henna from your hair.
Make it the thickness of loose yogurt so it spreads easily.
Smush it into your hair and scalp for good coverage.

Chrs, what happens if you mix henna with just water. Will you get any color at all?

Yes, if you mix henna with water, you will still get color. I used water only for my first three or four henna treatments. I saw red highlights in the sun, and my grays were colored.
Re: Juices-n-Berries xal is high and fly!
I think that sounds like an excellent idea. I didn't know i could do that. I think I'll use water only my first go round just to get a feel. I was looking for something simple becuase it's my first time. Thanks soooo much! I'll let ya'll know the results.

Re: Juices-n-Berries xal is high and fly!
My scalp is itching. I got these coils Wednesday before last so it's been a week and a half. I REALLY want to wash. I wish I'd learned how to wear a wash n go. Because I'd at least like to wash and wait until after heena to twist. Nor do I have time to twist because I should be studying. But I'm not too comfortable with my fro all out just yet. Next week would be the perfect time because we have exams and only come to school for the tests. Most people are stressed so they won't be paying attention to my hair anyway. Also, tomorrow is the natural hair meetup. And I want it to look nice. Maybe I can try some sort of puff, I think my hair is long enough...What to do, what to do...

Re: Juices-n-Berries xal is high and fly!
So, I was able to give myself the best of both worlds. My scalp needed to be cleansed. So that's what I did. I washed my scalp only. Because I had buildup, I pooed with ORS Olive Oil Shampoo. Then I did a cowash with Jason Tea Tree Conditioner. I focused only on the scalp because I really wanted to see if the coil out would hold up through the wash so I would'nt have to bother with style. It held up quite well. I didn't want to do an extra condition for the same reason. So, I applied Qhemet Amla and Olive Heavy Cream to soaking wet hair. I the sealed with the Olive and Honey Hydrating Balm. To make a puff, I applied Afroveda Pur Whipped Jelly to my edges ad brushed them down. I secured the puff with a Scunci. Then I placed a wrap cap around it which I will leave on for the night so it can be smooth in the morning. To help with possible shrinkage, I ran a little bit of the Pur Whipped Jelly over the rest of my hair. So far, I am really pleased with the result. My scalp feels good and I like the style. It doesn't look like the same coil out but rather looks more like a curly fro. I am happy because all week my coil out was mistaken for dreads. In the morning, I will spray on a little JUICES AND BERRIES to refresh and take off the wrap and apply some more of the OHHB to the edges for some shine.

Ur like a pro already. Most times I am not sure what to do with my hair. I am starting to try more products. I bought the mixed chicks leave-in and also DR. Bronner's Castile soap. I have the Amla & Olive heavy Cream also. I tried it before, but i didn't like it much. I will give it a 2nd chance tomorrow.

Me? A pro? Lol. Not hardly. But I am flattered. I attribute everything I know to what I have learned from the lovely ladies on this website. I'm still learning and growing. It's been a great journey so far. Right now I'm working on perfecting my routine. See you manana!
