Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Hey Ladybird....I know. Like I said, i've been MIA. Less preoccupied w/CN and more preoccupied w/finding a job and weight loss and stuff!!! LOL
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
@Carla - Welcome to our busy group!
@Misskris - Welcome back!! Yeah, you would have to go through a lot of
pages to see everything. How long would it take you to blow dry your
hair? It's so long.
@Ladybird - Thank you!!! Yes,please come to Vegas, we'll do each others hair!

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Thank you @ladybird and @misskris! I just JBCOed my scalp last night trying not to get my hair too oily, LOL. Thankfully I've in a bun mode these days so if my hair got oily, it wouldn't be so bad since I'm not wearing my hair out.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Hey Butterfly. I'm not sure how long it would take, maybe 30 minutes. I'm not gonna wet it, just apply some heat protectant and go.
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Oh, ok, that's not bad. I thought you were going to blow dry it after washing.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Nope, not washing today. Not time to wash yet. At least I don't think!!! LOL
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
CarlaAr, you should use the castor oil, or we all mostly are, every other day or so..... It evaporates quickly so you won't have a messy oily head for days, if that is what you are thinking. So Road trip to Vegas!!! Yeah!!!!!
Welcome back Misskris. Youve' been preoccupied with the right things. Good luck on all.
So far, I've noticed thickness, not real growth with the castor oil.
We had our DC meet up yesterday. It was fantastic. My first one. We had like 70 ladies in attendance. I hope some of my pics came out. I will try to post them tomorrow. I got two packages of jamila henna and soome conditioner!!!! Hello Hydration!!! Woo hoo!!! I like give aways!!! i never win, but I dind yesterday. I will now get to hennaing.
We had a speaker, can't remember her name right now, but she was like, you ladies, around the 6 month mark, you have a long way to go. You should be noticing changes in textures, and learning you hair now. In the next few months, you will really understand what your hair needs and like. But initially, it moisture and attention. So for real now, I don't feel so bad, cause that is exactly where I am.
There were some beautiful ladies, with beautiful hair!!! I was so impressed. Hope you all get to make a meet up soon. It's very inspiring.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Yeah, Carla. Every other day is good. That's what I do too. Just be sure not to use too much because it can become messy if you too. I find it easier to squirt on my fingertips first, rub together and then massage onto my scalp. Hope it works for you, it has for most if not all of us!
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Ok ladies, I know it's not time yet but I wanted to do it anyway...here are some comparison pics of my hair...

Blow out Feb 13...

Doesn't seem like much of a diff in the blow out but the corn rows does. I'm also not cure if I was holding my head the same exact way in each picture so.... But anyway, I REEEEEEAAALLY wanna flat iron it to see how long it is for real. But it has grown a little. I am tryna get to Hair Crush's length!!! Her hair is OFF THE CHAIN-GORGEOUS!!!!!

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
It felt a WHOLE lot thicker last night too after I blow dried it but it may be also in part from the Carol's Daughter heat protectant I used. That stuff was super thick. Not sticky though.
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Aww Thanks, Carla. The 2 blow out pics look exactly the same length but I know there's a diff from the measurements taken before. Your hair is very pretty too. I love your curls in your profile pic. Very healthy looking!!!
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Thank you! I just need to work on growth and retaining length now - something I've been neglecting for years.

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
I hear ya. Although my hair always gets to just above where it is now, I never actually TRIED to grow it out. But now I am, so we'll see how long and thick this gets!!!
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Misskris, I don't think the two blow out pics look the same. I can definitely see the difference. You got some awesome growth there, girl!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Thanks Butterfly. After seeing Hair Crush's vids on youtube the otherday I am on a mission now!!! LOL For real!!! Have you seen her hair???? INCREDIBLE!!!!!
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
I have seen her hair and since I just BCd, I am not even gonna think that I can get length like that for at least 10 years...LOL! But her hair is definitely gorgeous!

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Hahaha!!! I dunno about 10 yrs!!!! That's a bit long. LOL But that's what I am aiming for. I think I may try that Wild Growth Hair Oil some time soon. I also think I still need to clip my ends just tad.
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Hahaha...yeah well, we'll see because I do plan on letting it grow to its full potential now that I have no more relaxer and no more heat styling (which I haven't done since October). I have the Wild Growth oil but stopped using it because of the smell. I think for now I'll just stick with my CO and see what happens. Are you going to clip your ends yourself?

Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Yeah, I always cut them on my own. That way I know too much won't be cut off. You know how when you go to the salon and say cut 1/2 an in they cut off 2 inches!!! LOL
Re: NEW CASTOR OIL CHALLENGE
Girl, yes! But my girl is just the opposite. I had to say to her a couple of times, "isn't that still perm right there? cut it all off or I will!!" She really didn't want to cut my hair! LOL
