Re: 2011 Hair Resolutions
I need to add that to my list too. My hair is shoulder length curly and 2-3" past collar bone straight. I want to get BSL straight but getting there curly would by nice too!!perrydz@plu.edu wrote:-To start making some of my own hair care products.
-When straight my hair reaches past my bra strap but I want to work on it reaching my bra strap when it is curly.(It was almost there in 06 but I have the super bad habit of just cutting my hair.)
-To keep track of what I do to my hair with pictures and a blog, etc.

Werd son??? I did not know that. Thats one of my goals but i really need to get back on my yoga tip. I did it thru out my long transition and it ease my nerves alot. I was so stress for those 2 years. I recently stop...but i will get back to it!!! Next week that is...lol
I need to add this to my list as well. I was doing SO well a few months ago but got super lazy. I need to get back on the ball. I guess this will be one of my NY resolutions for real. And if it helps my hair, than great!!!!
Re: 2011 Hair Resolutions
I thought of another one...
Master the moisture vs protein balance with my hair. This was on my list last year...smh I think I have a good plan now though.

I need to master everything with my hair I did an earlier post but I feel sometimes I just dont know what to do with Shamekia she is sooooooo dry sometimes
Re: 2011 Hair Resolutions
My goal is to get my hand in hair syndrome under control. I play with my hair way to much, i love it . Once i get this under control my styles will last much longer.

Re: 2011 Hair Resolutions
My resolution...after I just snipped off some straggly ends from these twists (i probably cut off 1"-1.5"). I also need someone to hold me accountable for this because I start out well, but fall off around mid-year. Its like "things happen...life happens"
1. sleep on a satin pillowcase or scarf (i usually forget)
2. do better about moisturizing my hair...i had an alarming wake up today, i washed and conditioned my hair and the hair in the crown area was so brittle...i have lazy moments where i smooth my hair in a bun and forget about the hair that's not visible (when protective styles go horribly wrong)
3. exercise consistency in my routine
4. do better about deep treating my hair (whether its henna, cassia, hot oil or protein treatments)
5. experiment with more styles...i've just gotten downright lazy

Re: 2011 Hair Resolutions
Not exactly resolutions, more like goals.
1. Be proactive in doing the things that I know will prevent setbacks. Deep Conditioning every wash day, moisturize between wash days, take my time when manipulating my hair and protective styling.
2. Take my supplements, exercise at least 4 times a week and boost my water, fruit & vegetable intake.
3. Master setting my hair in Curlformers so I can wear smooth styles without using heat.
4. Experiment with honey, molasses and bananas. Increase the use of macadamia nut, hemp seed and wheat germ oil.
5. Be one of the first hundred subs to Lynnieluve's YT Channel.

1. Stick to my routine that works
2. Learn to trim my natural hair and only trim when necessary
3. moisturize my ends more often
4. only do my hair when I have the time and patience to do it

I'm growing my hair to my booty!
I know it can be done and I'm up for the challenge!

Re: 2011 Hair Resolutions
-Pay attention to how my hair feels before and after cleansing
-Determine conditioner based on how my hair feels
-Trim SSKs and split ends monthly (search and destroy only)
-Continue to use ayurvedic powders, oils, teas, etc.
-Figure out what will help with porosity issues on my coarser hair strands
-Wear PS throughout the year
-Ensure hair is detangled (easily comb through from root to tip every three days--yes, I will start from ends and work way up but afterward, I want to be able to get through it from root to tip)
-Start a blog/journal

Re: 2011 Hair Resolutions
1) Make sure my hair is moisturized.
2) Don't go to a hair salon for the next year and trim my own hair. I am tied of going for trim and instead I get a cut.
3) Learn how to style my hair using protective styles.

Re: 2011 Hair Resolutions
- keep up on this breakage. no idea why it's been happening, but i need to stop it once and for all because otherwise i will never see results. i'm gonna be using aubrey organics gbp conditioner weekly, henna monthly, kalpi tone & amla every other wash, and aphogee 2 step every six weeks.
- continue using a conditioner mixed with honey and evoo as a dc. it works.
- keep my hair in protective styles more often. kinda have to do this by default, since im taking swimming lessons
- continue eating healthy & exercising
- moisturize & seal every other day.
- learn to make flat twists look nice mine always look like trash
- stop using combs and brushes
basically, for this year im actually getting serious about the health of my hair. hopefully, the length will follow and by the end of the year i hope to be at least bsb.
