How often to wash your hair ?

I have been washing my hair every 2 weeks because im lazy lol i but i see some people say they wask 2 to 3 times a week and some people say they wash 1 every 2 weeks how often do you wash your hair why ? and how often would you recommend one wash their hair ?

Well it all depends on if you wash your hair with shampoo or cowash with your choice on conditioner. Wash my hair about every 2 weeks since it is winter and very drying. I co wash about 2-3 times a week depending on how my hair feels.

I typically wash my once a week because I work out. Every once in a while, I will go two weeks but never longer than that.

I typically wash every week but for the past month since its been getting colder and I've been doing every two weeks. I like the idea of having fresh hair every week but it's a days process for me or at least a couple of hours or the pre-poo, washing, DC, and just two ponytail session. The next day will usually consist of the actual style once my hair has air dried. I'm going to do kinky twists soon so this will cut down the styling part at least for awhile.

Once a week but if I have a style that can stretch, I will go two weeks at the most.

I shampoo on Sundays and co-wash on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I do this because I'm transitioning and when I was relaxed I barely washed once a month. Trying to use healthier techniques now.

Okay so i guess my every 2 weeks routine will have to do and i want to try a co wash in the middle but thank you everyone for your answers

It also depend on how much product you use in your hair..If you gel it up you may need to wash out sooner than that..Other than that its really up to what works well for you..

At max, I wash every 2 weeks. As my hair has grown, I've learned washing weekly is really not necessary for me. Weekly washing is like overload for my hair. Listen to your hair and you'll know when you can't go another day without washing it. Shorter-hair curlies may opt for several washes a week. I cowashed every other day if not everyday with a TWA. Routines change as your hair grows, I guess.

@jeanlouis yes i noticed that since it's cold what i do is wear my hair in a bun 3 days before wash day and with my buns i apply a lot of gel

i wash once a week..and if I want to give my hair extra attention twice.. but instead of using a shampoo I co-wash and DC

I co wash my hair every 3-4 days and shampoo my hair once a month.

I only wash weekly and I shampoo like I used to perm, every 8 weeks.

In the summer I co-wash or wash every 3 to 5 days. Depends on how much product I use and what my hair feels like.

In the winter its every 6 to 8 days because my hair takes a long time drying and I don't feel like its exposed to as much dirt and sweat as during the summer time.

I am adding bi-monthly hennas to that routine.
