Re: Healthy hair from within
LMAO!!!! that's true Tiff. Dollar stores do make that easy. And Butterfly I forgot about the jello w/cool whip. although it's not my favorite.
@ tiff I get my natural cool whip (it's not cool whip cuz that's the brand name, but whipped topping) from Trader Joe's but having lived in Mobile, I don't think you have one anywhere nearby. I don't think AL has one at all unless it's new. but maybe you can try Fresh Market if you have one or Whole Foods. i love it!!

Re: Healthy hair from within
HAAAAAAAAAAAhahahahahahahaa!!! ok, let me see....
born and raised in NY
-> College in Atlanta, GA
-> Grad school in St. Louis, MO
-> NC with mom after grad school
-> SC after getting married and having twins
-> Las Vegas, NV
-> back with my mom's in NC, this time with a hubby and THREE kids, and one was on the way
-> Mobile, AL
-> lost our jobs so BACK to mom's again in NC
-> Lagrange, GA
-> and now Grayson, GA (I say Atlanta, close enough - LOL)
Don't plan on leaving GA for a while, as long as all goes the way we want it to. But never know what God as planned. When people find out how many places we've lived they ask if I or my hubby are military!! LOL nope, just move a lot.

Re: Healthy hair from within
I know girl. I laugh about it but seriously it's been bad because my two oldest (the twins) have been in a different school every year (in the 3rd grade) and one year, for 1st grade they were even in TWO schools (when we moved from Mobile to NC). It would be nice to stay in one city for a while so they can stay in the same school. That is my goal. I would LIKE for themn to finish out elem sch where they are now!!!
Re: Healthy hair from within
Yeah, that's always been the hardest part about moving for me is trying to keep at least the stability of school for the kids. What grade are the twins in now? CCSD was doing a pilot program where they let parents request the school they want their kids to go to even if they are not zoned for that school, and I was able to get my youngest son in his current school that way. He's been there since 1st grade and when that's approved it lasts for the entire elementary school career. So no matter where we move, he gets to stay at that school.
Oh, I am waaayyyyy off the topic of health and hair...sorry .

Re: Healthy hair from within
twins r in the 3rd now. so hopefully they can stay where they are til the finish 5th. I think it stops at 5th now. I know when I was in elem sch it went to 6th grade but we were the last 6th grade garduating class. After us it changed to 5th grade as the highest in elem sch.
Re: Healthy hair from within
Exactly, it's 5th grade now...lol. My youngest is now in 4th grade. Yeah, when I was in school it was also 6th grade, and junior high was 7th, 8th, and 9th, and high school was the rest. Now that's all changed. My kids correct me when I say junior high because now its "middle school." Excuuuuse me!!!

Re: Healthy hair from within
Welcome Stacie, let us know what your plans are regarding this challenge. We really try and encourage each other, pose questions when we need help, and offer suggestions.
Butterfuly, I always hated the word "exercise" as it relates to getting up and moving because it just sounds like work--lol. When we think of physical activity, we think movement and hopefully, something enjoyable. Since space is an issue now and the farther we have to go to get that physical activity and the effort, the less likely we will be consistent or even get started. What do you like to do? Here are a few suggestions to consider and maybe there is something here of interest: jumping rope, biking, swimming, skating, tennis, bowling. There are also many tapes available at a reasonable cost. If you can get in as little as 30 minutes at least 4 or 5 times a week, you will be doing good.
Keep us posted.

Props to misskris for catching the "tapes."" That is what happens when you are sleepy, tired, and running on fumes. So, Butterfly and anyone else who didn't get it, the option I was referring to was workout videos!
Peace sistas!

Re: Healthy hair from within
Hahaha...naturallynola, I knew what you meant, too. I have many, many, many workout DVDs and I have a Wii. I love and utilized all of them, but literally, I have NO space to workout. Thanks for the suggestion, and although I enjoy all of those things that you listed (except jumping rope), I have NO time, which is why I always did my workout DVDs and Wii at home in the morning before my day started. I took some portable workout tools to my office, and I have begun working out for 30 minutes of my lunch hour right in my office.

Re: Healthy hair from within
Hey Butterfly...so glad you mentioned that Wii....My mom got my kids a Wii for Christmas. But I wanna know, do you have to have the Wii Fit system in order to use those Wii Fit games?? I wanna get some of the workout Wiis but if it's only for the Fit system I guess I can't.....???
Re: Healthy hair from within
Okay, Misskriss, there is the Wii, which is the system. It comes with Wii Sports (or it used to) which is a game that has on it tennis, bowling, skiing, golf, etc. Now the other games you can buy (among many others) are Wii Fit Plus, Jillian Michaels, EA Active, Let's Dance. I highly recommend buying Wii Fit Plus. It is AWESOME!!!! My entire family loves the Wii.

Re: Healthy hair from within
I forgot to mention that Wii Fit Plus is a game that has on it yoga, strength training, step aerobics, boxing, snowboarding, karate (or something like it), walking/jogging, bicycle riding, parade marching...the list goes on, girl!

Re: Healthy hair from within
ok, so it's not a separate system that I would need. They can all be played on this one system they got?? Their's did come with the Wii Sports. It's all still in the box, we need to set it up. Tonight I guess.
Re: Healthy hair from within
Yes, girl, you need to set that up ASAP! We always have a blast when we get on that Wii. And, yes, it is just the one system that they already have. However, in order to take full advantage of all the Wii Fit Plus, you need to buy not just the game, but also the balance board. You can play some (not all)of the games without it, but the balance board is how the Wii weighs you and measures your BMI and your balance.

Misskris, I know you were kidding. I laughed too. I am not the sensitive type, besides, you don't have a history of mean comments.

Re: Healthy hair from within
Hi, everyone! Just checking in. How is everyone doing? I've been drinking ALL my water every day since Saturday!!! That's really saying something for me. I've never been able to keep that up in the past. I've also been eating lots of fruis and vegetables, which I have always loved. Oh, I've also been exercising. I just try to make sure I do something every day. If I'm pressed for time, I go up and down the stairs at work througout the day (I work on the fourth floor).
