Yup I was born here in NC. My stepdad was in the miltary so when I was 9 we moved alot(miltarty brat). I ended back here for high school and stayed. I love to come to charlotte and shop. Actually I need to plan me a day trip up there to get some summer items. I need to card you also because I don't believe you are 32.

LOL! I do get carded sometimes in restaurants when I order drinks. I always think "Are they serious?" Next time you are coming to Charlotte let me know. I'd love to meet you.

Hi There! Thanks so much. I'm doing well. Nothing new really going on over here. It's funny b/c if you look at your hair everyday you can't see the growth until you compare to prior photos. But I'm able to tell it's growing b/c my sides are not as short as they use to be. Hopefully keeping my hair in twists for the next month or so will yield some great growth. How have you been?

OMG those mini twists are beautiful!!!

Thanks IB! It seems strange to me that almost a year ago I was sporting a TWA and trying to figure everything out and now it seems to be second nature to do my hair.

Hi Serenity. I saw you post on another journal and I just had to come in. Why? Because I simply LOVE your hair, the color, your twists. I am often trying to find someone who has twists that stand up like mine and BINGO! I found you! I have been begging my hair to "hang" and she will from time to time but mostly she prefers to stand. LOL! Anyway, your hair is really gorgeous. I use Curls most of the time also AND I did my complete best not to memorize the rest of your regimen because I'm a product junkie. Certified. You have a great day!

Thanks Poeticlyspkng! At this point I let my hair stand if it wants. I find that when my hair is bigger and has more volume, I get more compliments on it. I cant say that im a product junkie b/c really the holy grail of products for me is my Organix conditioners. They are like $6 and I use them religiously. Now I'm off to check out your journal.

Thanks Lynnie! I've been checking out your twist updos and thought for a minute to try to do one on my hair, but I'm not good w/flat twists nor parting so I had to give up that idea for right now. But you are wearing them well and I loved ur hair w/the white outfit! I can't wait to see how much growth you achieved in this twist challenge.

Good Morning Ladies!
Today makes the 5th day of wearing my mini twists. They are sooo convenient for not having to do anything w/ur hair. The longest I have ever kept twists in was 4 days and my goal is two weeks and I wonder if I'm gonna make it. When I twisted this time, I twisted on dry hair and used Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair butter. I hadn't used that stuff in a long time b/c it can feel kind of greasy if you put too much. But I think since my goal is to leave these twists in for an extended amount of time, it's just what I needed. I have not had to reapply any oil, butter, etc. since I did them. I do spritz them in the a.m. and before I put my bonnet on at night but that's about it. I work out everyday and it's great to come home and not have to worry about my hair. But the weekend is coming up and I know I plan to go out or something and I need to figure out an updo for the twists. Yesterday I put them in two ponytails while I went to the gym and left the ponytails in all day. That seemed to stretch them out. I may spritz them on Friday morning and put some perm rods all over to make a curlier look and then try an updo. I'm also going to cowash them probably on Sunday. My plan is to leave them in until next weekend and wear my hair out that weekend b/c I'm going to a wedding. Then on Sunday I will put them back in for another two weeks. Wish me luck!

Hey Serenity! I saw one of your post in another thread and I was in awe of your hair! OMG! And you said that it hasn't been a year yet since you've BC'd? How long has it been exactly?

Good Morning! Nope yesterday was exactly 11 mos since my BC.. My anniversary is June 25th!

Hi LaToya! Thank you. I actually had my hair dyed professionally in the beginning of October so I'm not sure of the color name. I just went in and told her I wanted a reddish color and this is what I came out with. It's actually way overdue for more color but I'm waiting til after my year anniversary to pull the trigger.

Wow! You have amazing growth! I am excited to see how much mine will have grown in 6 months. BTW--I love your mini twists.
