@Serenity23: Thank You! I rolled my hair with those rollers you put the pins in that tighten up and give you a tension headache the more it dries (I hate those rollers). When I took the rollers out I pulled the curls out and I used a diffuser to loosen them.

@Intelligentbeauty: Thank You

Tomorrow is hair day. I will be waking up extremely early to pamper my hair. My family birthday celebration is tomorrow. We will celebrate October, November & December birthdays. I will be using my normal rods to set the back of my hair and for the front and sides I will be using curl formers. This will be very interesting

I can't wait to see how that turns out! We used to celebrate family birthdays like that but now there's just so much drama that comes with trying to do something with the whole family...ugghh. Its sad!

nmoultry hair journey - Page 8 Empty Curlformers

Post by nmoultry 19th December 2009, 11:40 am

So I just removed the curlformers. In comparison to my rods the curl is a LOT looser. It will be interesting to see if this set lasts 3 days. Here are the pics of the rollers removed. I will post pics later of the finished styled shortly

nmoultry hair journey - Page 8 Empty Curlformer results

Post by nmoultry 19th December 2009, 9:38 pm

In my opinion the curlformers will be just for a messy curly style if I feel the need for one. The results were just okay for me. I'm trying to take into consideration that this was my first attempt.

I like the end results!!! Looks good to me. I love the fact that if this wasnt a natural hair forum, I wouldnt know if you were natural or not. Nice Christmas tree too.

Love your results! I'm in the market for these curlformers...what size/length curlformers did you use? I'm thinking about buying different sizes to try before committing to the full set. What products did you use to set your hair? How long was your dry time? Besides the looser curl, did you notice any other difference between the curlformers and your rod set?

Sorry for the abundance of questions!!!

Thank You Freestyles! I got the short and narrow curlformers. The big box only contain the wide ones. I used setting lotion diluted with leave-in conditioner. I think it took my hair about an hour to dry under the dryer. Yeah besides the looser curl, the curlformers gives me more of a wild wavy look. I'm just worried about the style not lasting long

@Dajewel. I used a setting lotion n leave in mixture. I guess I should complain because it did rain on Saturday and I was out and about most of the day and I didn't use an umbrella...LOL

LOL @ no umbrella!! The flexibility of being natural. I love it!!

BUT I wonder why the regular rod curls pretty much stayed vs the curlformer curls???

Sweetdrk: I think because the regular rods are a much tighter curl. The curlformers were fairly loose from the start.
