So I was tweeting last night and was told my hair was nappy, ugly, needed to get a perm, couldn't get a man, etc...& for a minute, I was actually hurt. Then I realized that small minded people hate on what they can't understand or control. GO #TEAMNATURAL

Who else is visiting universities this summer? I'm kind of nervous, and really want to visit my top choice, but no one else (parents, friends) are interested in it. And I do not travel alone - which I need to get over.

@ Humblebug try visiting your fav school when theyre having events specially catered to potential freshmen. It really doesn't make sense to go a really far distance just for a campus tour

They don't do that. And I don't see how it doesn't make sense...it's university... a big deal. When you're deciding between your top schools - a campus tour is useful.

I'm so excited for back to school shopping. I wear a uniform, but I love accessorizing and I've found cute indie/vintage stores. And I want rain boots, I've never owned a pair of those tall ones and I really want cute ones, haha.

@ Humblebug I think you misunderstood me. University campuses usually have plenty of days geared towards potential freshmen with informational sessions and various tours. Visiting's really important and I'm not knocking that at all. I'm just saying if you want to learn as much about a campus as possible, go when they're having decision days. That way you get a lot more than just a campus tour.

Random: I made plans to hang out with a really hot guy who's going to UNC in the fall

So lately I've been using Blue Magic Coconut oil which has petroleum in it but it seems to working really well on my hair....anybody else use mineral oil or petroleum products?

On the scalp? I've used it when I've felt my ends were too dry, but I don't think it does anything for me. But I don't put anything on my scalp anymore, my hair prefers that. After researching for myself instead of reading what everyone on hair forums say, I would like to try it again, but I don't think I'm doing it right. What's your regimen?
