I wanted to post an update on how my hair has come in since I did my BC

I changed products this weekend (eliminated sulfates, silicon and mineral oil) and so far I've seen improvements!

My hair is softer. I got Aubrey Organics White Camiella Ultra amoothing conditioner and shampoo. I've also bee co washing with Giovanni's Deep Moisture shampoo. I'm also starting to feel curls instead of frizz and napps.

I Have the AOWC conditioner, and I have Giovanni's smooth as silk. I love then both, but I have not just tried PRACTICING the no cone method. I might give it a try for a week to see if i can tell the diffrence.

I am really thinking about giving it a try, i just hate that i have so many other conditioners that are not curly girl friendly. What products do you use?

Try it and see. My hair was really dry and I couldn't stand to touch it let alone comb it. Being that I'm new to this journey I thought I would try a few things and see what works for me.

Marhia? Are those curls I see in your side burns? They're so cute! The whole style is hot! I can't wait to make a braided headband with my hair.

^^ I was unaware of the new thread creation as well. I thought everything was cool where we were but either way, I've noticed a lot of people have been missing lately. I've got a lot of thread reading to catch up.

Thanks doll! I will search! lol I just grabbed a few strands at a time, rolled them around my finger and let go. I never parted my hair or focused on a particular way for the coils to lay. Hopefully that helps..

Marhia - hair looks great! I see a lot of growth. What is the curly girl method? Is it just co washing and no shampoo? There are a few things that I have not put in my hair since I BC'd because I read that they were not so great for my hair (no sulfates, silicones, parabens, mineral oil).

WTRedHead - Avi looks beautiful with the flower, I have the same headband and I am going to try it.

I noticed since I BC'd- hair went from frizzy to curly too. My curls are so tight (cute little O's), but I am trying to find ways to lengthen my curls to reduce shrinkage. Does anyone have any ideas?

So, I finally decided to do a "style" as promised:

Not bad for only 4 months of growth. Can't wait to do this style at 8 months.

Good job KKM!

Curlynattie, I keep waiting for my coils to come through, but they haven't yet. I can feel them closer to my scalp, but the ends are all fuzzy. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. How often do you cowash?

Hello everyone. I've been a lurker on CN for some time now. I comment here are there, but I've never really posted. I thought this was a wonderful post idea... These posts have allowed me an opportunity to compare my growth with several of you ladies. I thought it was time for me to post some pics of myself... so here goes.

I tranisitioned from Oct 2009 to May 08, 2010. I did my initial mini BC myself. After that I went to a stylist for comb twists. When she finished coiling my hair, she cut off the rest of my straight pieces. That was on May 12, 2010. Here is a pic of that:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I'm at work, so I am unable to measure my hair. A week or so ago, I was able to measure the sides... I had a little over 3 inches. I don't have a real regimine yet. I pre-poo before washes, I try to co-wash 2 times a week, I deep condition when needed and I also baggy every now and then. I use lots of products. Jane Carter, Quemet, Giovonni (sp), and CD Healthy Hair Butter (love it!). I have several home-made spritzers. I have a AloeVera mix (AloeVera Juice, Distilled water, Jojoba Oil) and A Honey mix (Honey, Castor Oil, Distilled water, tea tree and peppermint oil). A combination of all of that has been working for me so far... but it's only been a month. I have a few pics that were taken from June 12-June 21st.

I'll try to post specifics with length at a later time. Thanks for reading.

HA, i thought I was crazy. i can feel mine close to the scalp too, mine feel like cork screws, and the ends are fuzzy. LOL Some whole strad cork screws but thats only like 4 or 5 of them. i know exactly where they are and i just play with them. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .

thats why i posted the question when did you "true" texture come in. In time ladies in time.
