Re: TWA Growth Challenge Month 2
yeah its basically no poos and if you have to poo then one without sulphates and cones and all that. I haven't used any products with sulphates or cones either since I bc'dcurlynattie10 wrote:Marhia - hair looks great! I see a lot of growth. What is the curly girl method? Is it just co washing and no shampoo? There are a few things that I have not put in my hair since I BC'd because I read that they were not so great for my hair (no sulfates, silicones, parabens, mineral oil).
WTRedHead - Avi looks beautiful with the flower, I have the same headband and I am going to try it.
I noticed since I BC'd- hair went from frizzy to curly too. My curls are so tight (cute little O's), but I am trying to find ways to lengthen my curls to reduce shrinkage. Does anyone have any ideas?

Not bad for only 4 months of growth. Can't wait to do this style at 8 months.
Very Cute!

i am just curious, what do you use for your wash and go's?
for me I have been
1. co washing with YTC
2. tresseme flawless curls condiioner as a leave in
3. Sealing with a mixture i made (shea butter, castor, coconut, and my vitamin e oil that has other oils in it.
With this, i see very little curl definition, more fuzz. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I know I said I wouldn't post anymore pictures but I couldn't resist! I had to show off my flower that my bff made for me; she's such a natural hair supporter!

Hey crissy! I co wash with suave naturals coconut conditioner. Then i apply a small amount of my shea butter mixture then I finger comb through with my Eco Custard gel. Shake and go. hope that helps
Re: TWA Growth Challenge Month 2
hey moriah, eco just makes my hair too hard for my liking. No matter what I mix it with, I still get white or crunchy hair. I am thinking maybe I should give it a couple of more months. I have only been relaxer free for 5 months and natural for 3.

Re: TWA Growth Challenge Month 2
I know what you mean by making it hard cuz it did the same for me. I think the shea butter i put on underneath softens it a bit. The second day is when i get my best hair because i get in the shower run water through it, shake, and then go. After that my hair has a nice hold and is still defined. I give it a few months and try again. Have you tried KCCC?

Awww MissMoriah Thank you for the compliments. Oh and the baby hair is just my hair line that has been MIA while being relaxed that's why it's shorter than the rest; I treat it just like baby hair too!
As far as shrinkage, I think it's just something we just have to deal with! I've heard of people "banding" their hair to stretch it out but other than that I haven't heard of a product that combats shrinkage.

Yesterday I cowashed with AO White Camellia and then use Komaza's Califia pudding. It's made specifically for kinkier hairtypes and I think it works well. From what I can tell my coily parts are mostly at the top and back of my head. The rest is just cottony...oh well. I'm gonna twist the front today.
Very pretty tashafawn! Thanks for posting....we lubs your pics!

Good job, I love it! Shrinkage is da debil, but your twistout is gonna be so pretty. Make sure you post a pic.
Re: TWA Growth Challenge Month 2
@Tasha "versace of hair gels" <--- love that!
@Toya! Thank you and yes shrinkage is da debil. LMAO. I went on ahead and did my twist out but i didn't like it. So i wet it and here is a picture of that If you see little white balls in my hair it is from the vatika oil. I put some on last night...trying to thicken my hair.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
and here is a bit of a length check. I think i told yall I did a trim last month some time.

does anyone else have a problem with their twistout being frizzy and fuzzy? I hate my twistout. I try not to separate it too much but if I don't it looks scalpy IDK, I hope they don't look like that when my hair gets longer.
