Re: TWA Growth Challenge Month 2
LaToya and Missmoriah you both did a good job! I went back to my regular w-n-g today, my hair was getting a bit frizzy for my taste. I forgot to update that I am now trying out a few products from the SheaMoisture line at Target. So far I have
coconut hibiscus hold & shine daily moisture spritz (I like it)
raw shea restorative conditioner (I like it, I co-wash with it and leave it in)
coconut hibiscus curl and hold smoothie (very moisturizing)
raw shea dry scalp elixer (great for itchy scalp)
deep treatment masque (I like it for my daughter's hair, I'm still deciding if I like it for me)

LOL i guess so. maybe you can give me some tips. The sides of my hair are thin as well. and even the front. SO basically the edges of my hair are thin and i am so afraid to put anything on them. I am learning to be more gentle with my hair.
@mstokes: Thanks!
I'm learning to be more gentle as well. I just watch YT videos to check out other people's technique and hope to improve my own.

Thank you Latoya and MissNaturalBeautii! I will have to see what I'm doing wrong on the pics, for some reason they don't give an option to enlarge.
Welcome Pfarley!! Your hair and the baby are gorgeous! How many months post were you before you BC'd? Your growth is awesome.

I still think the flowers look dumb on me.

Re: TWA Growth Challenge Month 2
Thanks so much for the kind words missmoriah! Please post pics after you try it.
Re: TWA Growth Challenge Month 2
Latoya I love that style especially with the flower. So cute! Miss Moriah-- I love your flat twists. You and Latoya are doing it.
Well I have been experimenting to, not as advanced as you two.
Here is my picture with my flower headband

Here is my attempt at coils - MORE PRACTICE!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
got my haircut today - not too bad! You are right Miss Moriah - my hair does feel softer and thicker! Didn't cut too much off, it is about two inches all around.

Re: TWA Growth Challenge Month 2
Crissy Q - 2 months - I think I am going to get a haircut once a month for the summer. I noticed a big difference in my hair texture. I think my scab hair is finally going away!
Latoya - thanks! I am thinking of getting coils done professionally, just to watch the technique and not mess with my hair for a while. I may do this later in the summer though, I do like rocking the twa in this hot weather! I will keep practicing though. I like your hairstyle with the flower, I will try that!

Re: TWA Growth Challenge Month 2
Missmoriah, I'm not sure I believe in the whole scab hair thing, but I'll explain what it is.
Scab hair is the hair just below the scalp that has been affected by the relaxer. It tends to be dry, rough, and porous and is not your true texture. Some people get it and some don't. Here's a thread on naturally curly about it.
