Man Krazy Coils, your twists are so thick and plump and juicy! I need to work on getting mine like that. Or maybe accept that my hair won't and live vicariously thru YOU!!

Re: Krazy Coils,
So yesterday was wash day for me. I wanted to redo my twists but I did not give myself time to let my hair dry and then twist my hair so I ended up doing another braidout. I will return to the twists next weekend. I loved not having to do anything to my hair on the days that I wore them!
I tried two new products I have been hearing about on here. I used Yes to Cucumbers to detangle my hair and this is a keeper! I like to finger detangle my hair in the shower and this really helped. Also I found the shea moisture coconut and hibiscus hair milk at target (thanks Pinkrage!) If you like thick and creamy products this is definitely a good leave-in to try. Really smells good and my hair felt moisturized. I want to use it a couple of more times but I can see this becoming a staple since I can get it at Target when its in stock (I grabbed the last one on the shelf) plus its only $9.99!
Today's hair: I was in a rush this morning so excuse the hair

Re: Krazy Coils,
KC and CG, I wish I could be a triplet with you 2! KC, even on a bad hair day, yours looked good! I also like that shea moisture hair milk. I often use it on my hands when I separate my twists or when I twist them back up at night! Good stuff!

Poeticlyspkng you know you're in the family with those fabulous twistouts! I am loving the shea moisture hair milk so far! It helps with detangling also when I'm combing through my hair.

I also plan to do twists for next week. Last week when I had them in I didn't suffer from the HIH syndrome. I didn't wan't them to unravel so I didn't play around in my hair. So this weekend I will be redoing the twists!
Re: Krazy Coils,
Happy Friday Curlies!
Today is my usual braidout day. I have been really lazy when doing my ayurvedic treatments. This weekend I plan to do a paste with Amla, Brahmi, and Maka. I haven't been shedding a lot but when I do these consistently I do notice a reduction in the amount of my shedding. So I am going to get out of my slacker mode.

LOL, ayurveda is a hair regimen that originated in India. Its basically different herbs(in a powder or oil form) that you can use to clean and condition your hair and it promotes healthy hair growth. Most of the herbs you can find in your local Indian store You add water to them to form a paste and apply it to your hair and it makes a mask on your hair. There are different kinds that do different things for your hair. The ones I'm using are pretty much moisturizing and help to darken the hair a little (I have a few gray strands that annoy me!). I will give a more detailed explanation of each one and take a picture of the boxes when I do mine tomorrow.
Re: Krazy Coils,
Hey Krazy Coils...
I was wondering about that as well. So does this (ayurvedic) have the same benefits as a henna.
Just want to say that your hair is beautiful, and thanks soo much for being a big sister to Dva!!
I can't wait to see your review!!
Have a great weekend!!!

Re: Krazy Coils,
Thank you KNH! I've never used henna before so I can't compare them. I know that some people do use Amla with Henna so they may be similar. Amla helps with curl definition also and I've read that some people use it with Henna to prevent the curl loosening affect you get with Henna.
Re: Krazy Coils,
Hey KC! This is so off topic.
Quick question...have you tried ACV rinses? If so, what did you think about it and what is your process?

No I haven't tried ACV rinses yet. Its funny you asked because I almost did one this week because my scalp has been itching like crazy but I used a tea tree mixture on my scalp instead. The way I will use it in the future is to cowash, condition and use the ACV as a final rinse. I would use 1/4 cup of ACV to 2 cups of water and use it as a final rinse. Some people use different measurements because I have seen where some people use 1-2 tbsp of ACV to 1 cup of water.

Thanks Nubie! I really have to stop playing in my hair
Re: Krazy Coils,
So this weekend I did a treatment with Amla, Brahmi and Maka and I used water and coconut milk. I like to use these three since they are known for their Hair strengthening and nourishment. Here are a few of the advantages.
Amla - Promotes hair growth, cures scalp infection, controls premature graying of hair. Contains Vitamin C which contributes to hair nourishment.
Brahmi - Cools the scalp and controls dandruff, strengthens hair roots, contributes to darkness and denseness of hair.
Maka (also knownas Bringraj) - Known as the king of herbs for hair growth and helps with premature graying.
You will notice a darkening of hair color but I've noticed that you will have to be consistent with using these and I can be a bit lazy when using the paste on my hair.
