Flexi Rods Empty Flexi Rods

Post by Miz B 18th April 2010, 6:01 pm

I'm planning to get my hair flat ironed this week, while my hair is straight I want to try using the flexi rods to style it. Has anyone done this and if so, what size flexi rods did you use and what were your results??

Thanks curlies [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I havent tried flexi rods on straightened hair but I've done a braid out on straightened hair. The results were ok. It was a nice change from the flat and straight look lol.. ofcourse, we all know the results are 100x better on natural hair [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

There's no harm in experimenting with the flexi rods.. let me know how it goes!

I only use them on my daughters dry hair, and I have used them on my own dry hair. I use the orange ones, not exactly sure of the size.

Great results. Lasts up to one week.

^I have used them a couple of times after that post as well.

@NikG20-thanks for sharing the video! adorable! the rods I have are blue, they're kinda big. I might hit up the beauty supply for the orange or grey. Thanks again [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I haven't used the flex-rods on flat ironed hair but I have used them on wet hair and the section I used them in came out like it was straightened and then curled. I think the challenge will come with trying to find a product to use to set the curl without reverting your hair.

@tiashauntee-RIGHT! because gel has water in it of course. this is going to be interesting! i never learned how to wrap my hair either probably because i hate flat hair! even when i was releaxed i was always trying to create big hair. the reason i'm flat ironing is to do a length check and trim. i haven't flat ironed since last year.

i love flexis, i used them alot while i was transitioning and those curls last a long time and depending on the size (color) you use, the curls can be really tight or looser.... Smile

I'm traveling soon and wanted a style that would last for at least a week. Contemplated twists but I want to try something new. Then I was like maybe a straw set but after reading about flexi rod sets I have made up my mind. I wanna try them. Now where in canada can I pick up a pack of flexi rods and stuff to get me started. I want to try the style before I do the final styling... DUH...

NikG20 thanks for sharing the pictures. I have copied and pasted in a word document so I can try something out. Anything!!

I used flexi rods when I used to straighten my hair all the time. I usually used them at the center of my head like a regular hair roller, and then wrapped the rest of my hair around my head. When I combed my hair down, the curls in the center helped curl the rest (I hope that make sense). but are you trying to do spiral curls or just giving your hair body???
