Flexi Rods Empty Flexi Rods

Post by tressedforsuccess 12th January 2010, 4:05 am

Hi Everyone. I was wondering if you guys had any tips on how to get my roots straight when I do a flexirod set. It looks straight when wet, but dries crinkly. Is the products I use? Usually I just use water mixed with infusium and seal my ends with Elasta QP Mango Butter. Any tips? Also, what products should I use to make the style last longer? I'm going away for MLK weekend, so I need it to last from Friday to Monday. Thanks.

Have you ever tried using bands. I did it with my rollerset and it worked great I believe it would work the same with flexirods.

When I used flexi-rods, I smoothed each section with a shea butter/coconut oil whipped mixture after making sure each piece was thoroughly wet and detangled. To preserve the style, at night I would re-wrap larger sections of my hair in the flexi-rods and slept with a bonnet. Hope this helps!

Thanks to both of you! I think I'm going to try the bands. I have plenty of them lying around. Looks like I need to get some shea butter. Almost everyone on the forum swears by it. Is it heavy? I've stayed away from it because I don't like greasy hair.
