Knock-off Denman Brush (Goody version)
okay so I'm really about to hop on the Denamn brush bandwagon because those that use them have great results and i keep hearing about the awesome-ness of this brush so i wanna try it. the only thing is theyre expensive and if it doesnt work for me I'll be really upset that I wasted all that money. So where can I find one. I've heard on various forums incl. this one that there is a Goody version but when i went to the website it was confusing..
what stores do you know that carry the Goody version or any other version?

I love it! The base comes out so that you can modify the brush to suit your needs. I currently have every other row removed and it works also. Plus soooo mush cheaper than the denman.

Re: Knock-off Denman Brush (Goody version)
I Just threw away my denman brush yesterday, i'm so sad. It lived a good live but the rubber was combing off and it kept stabbing me between my nails.they don't carry it here or they ran out so i have to order one from sally's i guess. i have a goody version, i'll use until then. That brush was worth every penny i can't remember how much i paid for it at sally years ago.

thanx beautywithcurls. i just bought the conair version from CVS a few minutes ago. it was only $3.99 so if it doesnt work for me i wont care very much.
i think I will eventually buy a Denman (dont know which kind), but for now the Conair will suffice

I have the Annie version that I got from my local BSS. I think it was like $2 and I removed every other row.

Re: Knock-off Denman Brush (Goody version)
Is there anyone that has owned both the knock off and the Denman?
Can you tell a difference?

i just got the conair version and on the back it says " Creates a look with a lot of body, yet no definite curl. Great for smoothing excess curl." Tiashauntee, is the reason you modified it?

Re: Knock-off Denman Brush (Goody version)
yes i've own them both i think the denman worked better on my longer hair because it was bigger but when i cut my hair the knock off felt better but i think it's because it's a smaller brush. i will eventually need the bigger one when i let my hair grow back. the denman seems to be better quality and softer but i'm happy with the knock off for in the meantime [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I modified it because my hair is so thick. The more space between the bristles the better it works for me

By big are you talking about the actual size of the brush? I feel like a larger one would get in the way.
Re: Knock-off Denman Brush (Goody version)
I bought the Denman from Sally's and it makes my hair a frizzy poofy undefined mess! I loaded my hair with conditioner and my hair still was not having it. I should have just waited until I had more length but the PJ in me took over that day...

@ jlowman1 i hardly use it right now just detangling sometimes, but i do think it works best on longer hair.

Re: Knock-off Denman Brush (Goody version)
oh, if it works best on long hair then it might not work too well for me because my hair is the same length as jlowman's. but i still have yet to try it. How do you use it? I mean does it define curls or just detangles, cuz i really want defined curls..

Re: Knock-off Denman Brush (Goody version)
I use it to detangle mostly. I did use it to define curls once and this is what I got: http://public.fotki.com/RBGchick/hair-challenges/cornrows-~-june-2009/defining-the-curl/curl-defining.html

My roommate was like, "Do you realize you spent $10 on a brush and you have hardly any hair to brush through?" I was like I know that heffa, she doesnt get my whole natural product junkie thing. Im slowly but steadily trying to clue her in. lol
