Denman brush??
So what are the effects of a denman brush?
And could I use it on my transitioning hair or would it break off my hair at the point where the 2 textures meet?

I don't really know the answer to this question but this question was raised in lhcf (Long Hair Care Forum) and alot of curlies who transition give their experience with Denman brushes.

Re: Denman brush??
I actually used my Denman brush during the last half of my 16 month transition. I used it to help smooth my hair out before putting it into bantu knots, & it worked great!

Re: Denman brush??
When I used my Denman the first time early on in my transition and I hated it...seemed like it was ripping my hair out
Then I saw a youtube video about modifying it by taking out every other row of teeth. I gave it another try recently and loved it. I'm sure I'll love it even more after I BC. Just make sure you detangle completely before you use it, and use small sections.

Re: Denman brush??
girl the stories I could tell you!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] 1) I can't get it through my hair 2) on some small chance it actually DOES go through, half my hair comes out with it!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I realize that if I had less hair it would probably be easier to detangle but combing my hair out isn't the way I envisioned my BC...lol

Re: Denman brush??
i use the jilbere shower comb in the shower ONLY. I detangle my hair with the shower comb under running water or after I've drinched my hair in conditioner. The shower comb stays in the shower where as the denman which should definitely be modified unless you have the Denman D31 for afro texture hair which is what I have. The D31 is great for styling and it doesnt tug at my strands. The less teeth the brush has, the better.

Re: Denman brush??
I use a modified denman only after finger or comb detangling if I want to clump my curls or for my daugther's hair prior to braiding. I a BC so I don't know about the 2 textures, but I do not like it as my initial form of detangling. I like it best when I distribute product.
